STIHL Square Mowing Line 2.4 mm x 253 m Orange

This line does not continuously break you get what you pay for far superior to the cheaper alternatives

Recommended that you soak the reel in a bucket of water for 24 hours, it helps prevent it becoming brittle. I prefer this slightly thicker square cut stuff, it last a little longer. (But it's harder to cut fine grass.)

This is the best, in my opinion- value for money, quality and effective strumming line you can buy. Don’t pay less for “ a bargain “. You get what you pay for.

Great line does what it's supposed to do

This is my second purchase of this product. Works really well. I have a 25 acre farm and have some very thick grass and 65cm tall kerb side growth to strim. This product just slices through. The only issue is if you do not use up the complete real within 2 years the materials start to degrade and loose it's strength. Bottom line use it up within 2 years or buy a smaller reel.

I am using this line on a Honda petrol strimmer and compared to the round line from B&Q that I have been using for years, it is brilliant. It is tougher and therefore lasts longer and has much, much better cutting capabilities. I have a country garden with lots of wild areas to keep under control and this line is ideal, but it might be a tad too aggressive in a more suburban garden - it will quite readily take chunks out of tree shelters or shrubs if you're not careful. The only really minor issue I have is that the Stihl line does't feed too well, but it is quite manageable and it is better that the line feeding automatically on rough ground when you don't want it too. This spool will last me for years!

This has made all the difference to my Makita EBH253L 24.5cc 40cm 4-Stroke Line Trimmer delivering much better cutting power than with the generic 2mm circular cross section lines that I had in there before. It also lasts better meaning less time spent re-winding. I must admit that I bought this spool without realising just how long it is - probably more that I'll get through in a lifetime - but it's only slightly more expensive than the 80m ones out there so if you can go halves with a friend or are a commercial user who will get through lots of it, then it's a clear winner. Highly recommended. Just a shame that it was so powerful it flicked a stone clean through my patio window!!!

Exactly as described and good value for money. The square cross section of the filament makes a big difference to the effectiveness of the strimmer that it is fitted to.
