Worked great on old 486 pc with 2gb transcend card. After you install dos 6.22 you might need to do fdisk /mbr for it to boot.

Don't spent stupid amounts offered by Ebay sellers for "compatible" devices. Upgrade your VS880/840EX with this for a fraction of the cost. Works like a charm. You'll need to get a longer 44 pin IDE cable as the one in the Roland is tiny to connect to the ZIP drive, but, yes, superb option

If you're buying this for the Akai MPC2000xl this will work! However it is not hot swappable and you will have to test different CF cards as not all of them will work with this device.

This is a really sturdy well-made item, and the quality is as you would expect from StarTech (ie. really good) The tray is of an all metal construction, but has a really weird stippled / hammered look that just stands out like a sore thumb and does not fit the aesthetic of the case that I want to put it in. I could mount it round the rear (ooer, missus) using the supplied PCI bracket instead, but there are far cheaper items than this that I could use to do that, and I feel like I would be wasting my money if I did that with this one as then I would be paying for a front-mounting kit that I would not be using. So, sadly, it's going back for a refund.

Startech have done it again (how come they are not more famous?) I've used this to provide win 98 gaming fun in an old PC but you could swap out the entire HDD in any installation with a big enough CF card I suppose. Talk about quick change and instant backup. Only criticism is that the manual is 'brief', there are two undocumented jumpers for 'DMA' and 'RST' that don't even feature in the literature.

Bought for my 2000XL, use it with a 1GB SanDisk CF card (not tried others yet) and OS 1.20. Works great as a non hot swap CF drive as my Zip drive was becoming unreliable. Works great.

I used this to convert a Akai MPC2000 xl to SD card instead of the factory fitted zip disk. No problems at all with using this .

The 3 stars are because I couldn't get it to work for my A4000 Yamaha sampler. The BIOS/firmware just wouldn't recognise the device/SD card. Probably OK for not so niche devices.

Les cartes flash normales vous lâcheront sans crier gare, les industrielles sont prévues interne pour fonctionner comme un hdd ide, dans la durée
