These radios are excellent - produce excellent sound quality and can be jailbroken to unlock higher power output. Simply flip the main radio over, take the case out and put the exposed jumpers on the other pins. Once you power it back up you can select your region and frequency range. Plenty of videos on the you tubes. The main unit is incredibly small, the mic fits in the hand well. Easy to use through the handheld interface but you might need to put the key lock on - it can easily change channel if you drop the mic. Works perfectly as expected and excellent value for money for a display-in-mic model.

brilliant little rig, as good as my old cobra hidden unit for having everything to hand, light mic and very small unit to place out of the way, makes tractor cab clutter free from an eye sore rig

Terrific little CB, and I mean 'little'. However, it gives out the full 4W and is simple to use with all the features of any CB apart from SSB. Have mounted in the car and with a good antenna, can talk and listen far afield. There is a quick and easy 'mod' which changes the CB into 'Export' mode 😉

I do like this quite a lot.ive never really been into hideaway radios untill recently as there is little space to fit even the smallest of radios like my president bill asc. I've got also an mtek legend IV, which I liked because of the hideaway but dud not enjoy the delay from PTT to transmit. Thus on the other hand beats it. No delay from PTT to transmit. Scrolls through all legal UK bands, am , cept FM and UK FM . Seems ok to the other peeps and audio is surprisingly good through the ickle microphone speaker. You can extend the Mike cord with a std rj45 extension of a metre or so easily. If you after a fit anywhere straight forty CB radio that does all UK bands thus could well be it. It is for me as so far it is the best thought out hideaway cb radio. I can't fault it yet! Shame it's not SSB. If it were that would be heavenly 😀 I'm not gonna take a star off because of that as it is exactly what it says it is. Straight 40 all legal UK bands at a button push.

This is another great little CB from Radioddity. Having all controls, including the speaker, means the head unit can be stowed away out of sight…nice and stealthy. A simple “jump connector” mod has the power increased and ham bands opened up. The only thing missing from this radio is SSB which you shouldn’t expect for this price anyway. This radio is one to keep in the van.

I'm very happy with this CB radio and recommend it. Here's why: Very compact base unit may be the smallest one out there. Radio and mic are sturdy. Can be quickly moved from one vehicle to another. AM/FM (I wouldn't buy a new CB radio without FM). Channel scan (spends about 1 second on each channel looking for activity, also a feature I think is mandatory). The mic/speaker are both built into the mic unit and the sound is good and surprisingly loud. The mic is not too large, and the brightness of the display is perfect for day/night use. Not necessary to permanently install the radio. Can just plug it into the 12-volt socket on most vehicles and set the mic inside a cup holder. Nice customizing ability in the menus for various options. Also has VOX (voice activated mic) that can be enabled. The center button the top of the mic serves as a "mute" button which is nice to be able to quickly mute the radio without turning it off. This radio has the codes feature which if used with a second CB (that also has this feature) will make it so that your radio ignores any other conversations. It doesn't prevent other people from hearing your conversations, it just prevents you from hearing other people's conversations. Everything is controlled through buttons but I'm okay with that. Yes, I like the old school chrome radios with all the switches and knobs but having everything built into the mic is better plus most of those older style units don't have channel scan and without that feature you're going to be endlessly turning the channel know looking for activity. Here's how I mounted mine. I sat the base unit vertically on the floor of my car next to the console. I attached a piece of industrial Velcro to the radio's bracket and the other Velcro to the console. While you don't have to use the bracket, I chose to use it to provide a bit of a small air gap for ventilation purposes and so I wouldn't lose the bracket as I moved the unit from car to car. You could just Velcro this lightweight base unit anywhere you want. The side of the base with the circle is where you want to apply the Velcro as the other side (no circle) gets slightly warm during use. While you don't have to install the metal mic clip, I chose to do that to put the mic exactly where I wanted to on my dashboard to keep it within easy reach and to see the display easily. You can just set the mic in a cup holder. One other tip, buy a three-foot long antenna to get some reasonable broadcast range of a few miles. The short antennas always reduce the broadcast range of any CB radio. If you're traveling in a convoy of vehicles close together it wouldn't matter as much, and a small antenna would work.

Am Anfang war ich wirklich erstmal skeptisch, da nicht explizit in der Beschreibung stand, ob es ein Multinorm-EU, oder ein reines 40-Kanal Gerät ist. Es ist Multinorm und Deutschland lässt sich ohne Probleme auf 80FM & 40AM einstellen. Hierzu muss das Gerät „aus“ sein. Man drückt und hält die „A/F“-Taste und Schalter das Gerät ein. Hier dann „de“ wählen und mit erneut langem Druck auf „A/F“ bestätigen. Die Modulation auf FM ist gut. Meine Gegenstelle (ca. 3km Entfernung) verstand mich klar und deutlich. Hierzu habe ich allerdings das MIC-Gain auf höchste Stufe (9) im Menü stellen müssen. Positiv: - wirklich sehr klein und kompakt - gute Modulation - ASQ funktioniert perfekt - gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis - trotz, dass alles in dem kleinem Mike verbaut ist: sehr gute Sprachqualität, Lautsprecher echt gut (war überrascht), Display klar und deutlich - üppige Ausstattung Negativ: - Bedienungsanleitung nur auf Englisch und könnte etwas ausführlicher sein, gerade eine Übersicht der vielen Normen (und dessen Abkürzungen im Display) fehlt - Blackbox wird beim Funken ganz schön warm - Spiralkabel könnte etwas „flexibler“ und evtl. länger sein, je nach dem, wo man die Box selbst verbauen möchte. Habe das Mike-Kabel mit einer 3m Cat6a-Netzwerkleitung verlängert und funktioniert perfekt! Ich würde das Gerät uneingeschränkt empfehlen, für diejenigen, welche ein „Blackbox“-Funkgerät haben möchten.

Works like a charm. Got it mounted inside the center arm rest box. It brings in skip like crazy! But, that's also a little help from the antenna!! Decent sound quality, mic controls are OK. I'm happy with this little radio. Out of the way, got it if needed! And, if you need to move it to various vehicles, very simple.... It has a cigar lighter plug for power, and you attach the antenna coax, done! On-the-air!
