Not programmable by VW
Took keyfob to VW paid $116 to have it coded and $75 to have it cut and the coding for the remote would not work. VW claims it was defective.

Good quality but not a 100% compatible to the original
My dauaghters original key fob case was torn up and barely usable. Tried to do a skeleton swap and the original chip board fits inside nicely. The silver key button and spring are much larger than the original volkswagen key fob. These parts are not enter changeable but, you can remove the engraved key tip. By removing a very very small pin on the the silver switch mechanism. This allows you to swap just the engraved teeth and pin it to the larger button switch mechanism. Also there is no spot on the back for vw symbol decal.

Ordered this to replace the broken key on my daughter’s Jetta. With the help of a YouTube video I was able to swap from old to new key and works great.
