Interesting but a little slow
I overall like this DVD. Certainly what information is here is of very high quality and I think it is worth buying at the price but I don't think you cover much ground with it, and you should expect to sell it on rather than keep it as a reference you will keep coming back to (unlike Matt Bramitch's book which I think compliments this well). He does show via multiple views the actual fingering on both sides which is helpful. There are not a lot of songs on the DVD though. If there were more songs I would have given it 5 stars as the quality is otherwise great.

Good for the Beginner Concertina Player, Plenty of info
Great for the beginner as he leaves a lot of good information but the tunes he selected to teach are not the more traditional Irish tunes I grew up with like Wind that Shakes The Barley, or The Irish Washer Woman, etc. I includes tunes I've never heard before. Good for the beginner Concertina Player ...

Concertina.
Very helpful instruction. Easy to follow and learn to play. You just need a concertina now to have fun! Glad I bought the DVD.

Wasted money
Not well done, fairly useless "instruction" and the guy just blathered on and on with little direction....definitely a future trashcan filler.

Great Primer. Perfect way to start you off right.
Fantastic starter Concertina lessons. Gives you everything you need to get your bearings: goes through basic technique, 2 scales, and 3 irish tunes. I bought this before I started expensive private lessons, and it gave me a huge head start.

Not suitable for complete beginners, the basics are whizzed through very quickly and I was lost very quickly

learn to play Irish concertina
I have no knowledge of music theory ,so this DVD is not suitable for a complete novice like me.Nice man ,but not cut out as a tutor.Unfortunately there seems to be a lack of other tutorials on the market.Back to the drawing board! Better to try a book perhaps.

Un guide simple et efficace tant les propositions sont bien ordonnées.Reste à s'entrainer régulièrement en prenant soin de bien ancrer chaque exercice dans les doigts avant de passer à l'étape suivante.On prend vite plaisir à jouer de cet instrument portatif et convivial .
