Good product
The first thing that struck me was the lifelike design of these fake owls. The detailing on their feathers, bright yellow eyes, and natural coloration make them look quite convincing from a distance. I placed them strategically around my garden, and it seems that the local birds took immediate notice. The rotating heads are a fantastic feature that adds a dynamic element, making them seem even more lifelike to potential pests. I highly recommend the Hedoc 2 Pack Fake Owl Decoys for anyone struggling with unwanted birds in their outdoor spaces. They are not just aesthetically pleasing but also serve as an effective and humane deterrent. If you’re looking to keep your garden or patio bird-free, these decoys are definitely worth the investment!

Great trick to scare away birds
These owl decoys are super cute and actually work! Easy to set up with turning heads that act real. I put them in my garden and noticed fewer birds almost right away. They’re lightweight but sturdy and look realistic enough to do the job. Great value for a 2-pack—happy with this purchase!

Helps keep the Woodpeckers away!
Got these to help keep the annoying Woodpecker off my metal chimney cap. So far it has only returned once. It was coming every morning before 7:00am. I would say that’s a win! It was making me CRAZY! Happy I purchased them. They are slightly smaller than I thought they would be. I have a pole in one and have it attached to the top of my fence with zip ties to give it some height (and it makes it VERY noticeable). Probably keeps them out of my neighbors yard too.

Does not work with squirrels
One of the owls would not move in the wind, only by hand. I returned/exchanged and had the same result with the replacement. That said, my owls must have invited the squirrels over for a party because they ate tomatoes right in front of it, and that's with me moving them around everyday! I do have a picture with a game cam of the squirrel with the tomato in his mouth but it was too grainy to post after zooming in... I'm giving 3 stars because they do look really good and I'm not having issues with birds, but then we never really have. I filled my owls with decomposed granite and they are pretty sturdy - did not get knocked over in 50+ mph storm winds but the squirrels did knock one of them off the fence at some point running past or over it. I just don't get it. We have hickory nuts everywhere. A 250B gallon lake across the street. I even put out a dog bowl with water for the deer that these guys could have but they seem to like my tomatoes more than anything and I was really hoping the owls would work. Only the sight of humans or dogs seem to scare them off.

Owl decoys to deter birds
I was constantly finding bird droppings on my patio furniture, so I decided to try these owl decoys to keep them away. They look surprisingly realistic with their big yellow eyes, and I love that the rotating heads move with the wind without needing any batteries. They are made of a durable, weather-resistant plastic, but they’re pretty light, so I had to fill the bottom with some rocks to keep them from tipping over in the wind. Since I started moving them to different spots every few days, I've noticed way fewer birds hanging around. They also make for some pretty cute garden decor!

Simple deterrent for the roofline
We’ve had issues with birds nesting in the overhang of the main garage door, and recently a hawk has been scouting the back area where we keep the scrap bins. I picked up this pair to mount on the corners of the building to try and keep the airspace clear. The plastic is rigid and seems UV resistant so far; they haven't faded in the sun yet. They are hollow, which makes them easy to carry up the ladder, but you absolutely need to fill the bottom plug with gravel or sand. I made the mistake of leaving one empty, and the first gust of wind knocked it off the roof. Once weighted, they sit stable on the flat parapet. The key is moving them. If I leave them in the exact same spot for a week, the local birds start ignoring them. But shifting them from the east corner to the west corner every couple of days has actually worked to keep the pests away. It’s a low-tech solution that saves us from cleaning up droppings every morning.

Decoys just don't work for my situation
So 2 owls, each one gets one star. Really no problem with the build quality. For the price they are really good looking owls, but they just didn't work. Ok they worked for about 2 hours, after which a bird flew right next to the owl and started building a nest. "Oh hi owl, I'm just going to put this nest right next to your foot here if you don't mind". Now to be fair I am in a really difficult spot here in the desert Southwest US. There just aren't any trees around so these birds are totally desperate to nest anywhere they can find, usually houses and other structures unfortunately. I believe we are dealing with mainly finches and sparrows here. I have never found decoys of any kind to be effective so I am not really surprised and the owls are certainly not expensive so I decided to give it a shot honestly because nothing works here....at all!. I got these owls because they were just tall enough to fit underneath this eave we have where the birds have a protected spot right on top of this shade casing that's mounted there. So perhaps you have a different situation. Not likely you will find anything else for that price that's going to work. If you do please let me know!! Again, the quality and everything else about the product is good but they just didn't work in my case.
