Works great and easy enough to install on own... it is compatible for our 2006 gmc yukon xl

Quick easy fix on my 03 Doge Ram. 234,000 miles before it needed this. The ignition would not turn at all. I waited too long to replace. The original had to be drilled out until the cylinder would spin to the 'ON' position. Once it was in ON position, push in the small tab under the cylinder and it pulls striaght out. Follow the instructions and you will be finished in less than 15 minutes if you dont have to drill out! I suggest you change if it starts to get stuck and not wait until its permanantly stuck like mine. Lots of videos on line!

CAUTION!!! The keys do not have a chip and will not work with most vehicles listed in the description. After installation the car would run a few seconds then shut down. I had to have a locksmith replace the key head with a head with a chip. Then he reprogrammed the keys, it took the locksmith about two hours. The cost was $300.00. DO NOT BUY!!!

It was a perfect fit and a much needed part. Very pleased with everything! Price was tight too.

Part number 7012945 - Purchased for a 2004 Tahoe. My original key broke in half, inside the ignition lock cylinder. That was fun. Once I got it out, this new cylinder slid into place perfectly. Here's a couple of pointers for anyone thinking of purchasing this set 1) The wafers (most people call them tumblers, but they are called wafers), springs and cut of the key are new and don't come lubricated. This makes inserting and removing the key very tight. If you apply a small amount of lithium grease (like white lightning) to the lock cylinder (smear it around and get it into the openings), it will make the operation much smoother. 2) This is not a programmable unit. The keys do not have transponder chips in them. The only factory anti theft system this works with uses a magnet that's built into the cylinder, which this has. If your vehicle uses a transponder key or if your key is the type that would need programmed, this is not the right part for your vehicle. My only gripe with this kit is that there are only 2 door lock cylinders and not 3. They must not realize that the back door (lift gate, barn doors or even tailgate) also use a lock cylinder so, I have to rekey my back door lock to this key now.
