Good light

The description for this says it has a lighting distance up to 3300 ft. I didn’t make a measurement, but I can say it has a very long range. As you can see in the photo the light has a strong Hotspot with a defused light around it, marked with red and blue circles. I measured the Hotspot diameter as 14% of the overall beam. I like being able to have some illumination of the surrounding as opposed to a very sharp focus. In addition to the High mode (rated 5 hours use) there is a Lower brightness mode (rated 8 hours use), and an attention getting strobe mode. With the light on either High or Low mode, you can activate motion sensing to be able to turn the light Off and back On by waving your hand close to the right side of the battery housing. The battery is rechargeable (about 2-½ hours). The left side of the housing has a USB-C charging port, as well as a USB-A port for charging a mobile phone from the headlamp battery. A captive rubber cover protects these ports when they are not in use. This headlight is rated waterproof to IPX4. The left side also has 4 LEDs to indicate the amount of charge when in operation or the progress when recharging. An additional feature is a female 1/4-20 thread provision to mount the light on a camera tripod or other mounting with a 1/4-20 stud or bolt. I assume if at sometime you need to replace the batteries, you would have to remove the glued on rubber pad providing a cushion against your forehead when wearing the light. There is no information about this in the instructions. The bulb and reflector housing can be aimed straight out or anywhere between that and 90° straight down. The light weighs 13 oz., but with the elastic strap around your head and the connected strap across the top of your head properly adjusted I did not find it uncomfortable to wear. If, like the first headlight I had about 40 years ago, they had put the battery in a pouch attached to your belt, you would have had to deal with a connecting power cable. Glad not to have to deal with that! I’m glad to have this headlight in my assortment of headlights and flashlights. Like screwdrivers, you pick the one that best fits your purpose. I have no complaints about the fit and function of this light.

The PINSAI High Power LED Headlamp Super Bright Adult Motion Sensor Headlight is a decent light but, I wouldn't call it a good light for prolonged usage. It's large and on the heavy side. I was unable to adjust it to stay just on my head without a hat. By wearing a hat I was able to keep it on my head. However, I could not escape its' weight. Its' design has the batteries directly behind the light housing instead of a separate battery pack. Another thing I'm not crazy about is that the batteries are in a sealed housing that prevents access to them. If anything goes wrong with the batteries the whole headlamp is worthless. I would not rely on this as my only source of light out in the woods. It charges pretty quick and holds a charge for quite a few hours which I do like. It also has a series of led's that give you an idea of how much power you have available. If you only have plans to use this light around home I would say it's a good value for the money. But, if you are looking for a light to use out hiking or hunting this is not the one I'd choose. It's just too large, heavy, does not produce a great amount of light and if anything goes wrong with its' batteries you're stuck in the dark. For the reasons I've stated I do not think the PINSAI High Power LED Headlamp is a very good value overall!
