Networking All–in–One For Dummies

Doug Lowe, made me laugh the author said if he ever caught anyone reading this as a book, he would kick sand in there face quality. Its a valid point, its packed full of great info, if your thinking of buying this i would hold out until 25th may 2018 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Networking-All-One-Dummies-Doug/dp/1119471605/ref=dp_ob_title_bk as the new addition comes out, good books for referance and knowledge expanding.

As with all other Dummies books I have used, this is well written, easy to understand and has good check in points throughout it to reflect on learning. Excellent

I like them, they read very easily. And you really start to get the basics, but only the very beginning of the basics!

As a CIO I need to manage the people who manage my network. I don't need to know everything, but I need to know enough about what they suggest to make good decisions. This book is a good review for someone like me who has been out of school for years and needs to catch up on the latest options in networking. It is also a good primer before reading more specialized books. It helped me get a grasp on things before I started studying the differences between VMWare and Hyper-V.

It's very informative, but not the kind of book you read cover to cover. Use the index when you have a question, and you're taken to a brief, concise explanation with a bit of humor thrown in. Doug Lowe does a great job dealing with a very dry subject.
