Works great! Yale quality!
Straight forward installation. Programming a bit challenging. This lock works great. This lower cost model doesn't include the wifi card for connecting to a home network but it can be added later. So far battery life is excellent, daily operation problem free. If you bungle the code three times in a row the lock locks you out for a minute. The control panel and casing look and feel great. Important that after installation the locking mechanism moves freely. If the hole on the edge of the door was not drilled perfectly straight the lock may have to be mounted at a slight angle to compensate. In other words, when you look at the lock from the outside or inside the rectangular lock may not be perfectly straight up and down. With my old round mechanical deadbolt the skew was not noticeable (because the lock face was round). If you try to force the Yale to be vertically aligned it may put pressure on the deadbolt slider making it hard to lock and unlock. This will not work with a battery operated lock. It must have zero resistance when you turn the handle on the inside to lock it or the motor will work too hard and the battery life and reliability of the lock will be compromised. Note: I live in an older home with nonstandard doors. You should not have this issue with pre-drilled new doors..

Great lock for price.
This is a great replacement lock if your z wave lock is getting old and tarnish,, just pull your Z wave module from old lock and you are good to go.. This lock comes with a at&t wave module in it.. My at&t system was changed to Brink in the sellout... this lock works great... I added another one of these to my garage door and it programed easily into my Brinks system... You can't go wrong at this low price.. I got 12 years out of one of these Yale locks and only replaced it because of tarnish.. The Yale key will Fit into Kwick set locks,, so you can get the rekeyable easy key kick set locks and have all your doors on 1key..

Uh... Programming this Device Does Not Match the Documentation
I purchased this absurd product in August 2017. Installation was straightforward enough, but the programming of this device just doesn't conform to the instructions at all. The support desk is absurdly limited to 8am - 6pm Monday through Friday, making it nearly impossible to reach, since most people need to be working during business hours and not in front of their lock. One person was staffing the desk during my ordeal. Making certain that my problems weren't with my understanding of the documentation -- which, by the way, looks like a middle-school Martian wrote it -- the support desk person walked me through the process. Noting that the lock opened before a code was even put in, making the lock useless as a lock, the exasperated tech said that I must have a defective device and advised me to exchange it. I'm not sure if the tech was himself not that good, if the device really was defective, or if he was trying to get me off the phone. I left work early just so I could call before the desk closed... go figure. A week later, the new lock arrived, and it had the same problems. The original device, after all, wasn't defective. It's just a poorly designed, unprogrammable, insecure, utterly worthless lock. I have now returned both devices, and went with a Schlage lock. After wrestling with these two devices for four frustrating, un-retrievable hours of my life, here's hoping I'll have better luck with that one.

Well-made, sturdy lock at a reasonable price
Lock was easy to install (directions however could be better with some text rather than just pictures) and connected very easily with my alarm.com security system via z-wave. I have the IQ Panel 2Plus interface which connected with the lock in a few seconds. Installation and programming together took less than 15 minutes. Excellent build quality and very nice to look at when installed!

Lovely and Convenient
I wanted to switch my deadbolt for a keypad so that I never had to worry about locking myself out of the house. I also was excited about being able to give codes to contractors or dog walkers on a temporary basis. One other bonus I have found with having this lock is that I can start my car on cold winter mornings and go back in the house for a while and not worry about fumbling with detaching my house key from my car key. A poor man's remote car starter as it were. This was very easy to install, it fit exactly in the deadbolt holes after I removed my deadbolt. I had first purchased the Schlage version but it stuck too far out from the door and prevented my storm door from closing. This one has a much narrower profile so it does not interfere with my door. The construction is very solid. The only issue I had is sometimes the lock would stick when opening it from the inside occasionally but another reviewer said that I may have over tightened the screws when installing it. I have had it for about 6 weeks now and it is working really well. When I first installed it, I had it set to play a sound when the keys were pressed and I also had it set to autolock. I have since turned these two features off because they were not as helpful as I had thought. The key pad is lighted and will flash when you press the keys so I prefer that over playing a note. The autolock will turn the bolt whether the door is open or closed so that became more of a burden than it was worth. It's easy enough to press 1 to lock the door after we are all outside. It is very easy to program and delete numbers, but not so easy that I have memorized it. I do it infrequently enough that I have to pull out the directions every time, but they are easy to follow. I have had several people complement me on the lock and one even asked for the name of my Locksmith so they could get one installed. "Amazon and Myself" was my reply. Update Aug 2018: I've had this lock installed since Dec 2015 on the main door that is used everyday and the lithium batteries are still going strong. I have both autolock and the sound turned off, but I am impressed that the batteries are still going strong considering how often it has locked and unlocked itself in the last 2-1/2 years.

Best Digital Locks - Easy to Use
A few years I replaced four locks with another brand of digital lock and they were a disaster: mechanical failures, frequent disconnection from my Smartthings hub, and battery life measure in months. I discovered Yale digital locks and have been very satisfied with their ease of connection, control, and battery life that is measured in years. The only hiccup was t no instruction sheet for connection to a Z-wave hub, but Google and YouTube took care of that. I have three different models and they're all very reliable.

Expired 2016 Model with auto-handing issues
I bought 3 units and was able to install the first one on my front door without issues. The Yale app and Zwave don't work on this 2016 Yale Real Living model now in 2023, but I didn't care about that. The other 2 units would not complete handing after installation of my back door and completing setup, so I was not able to use keypad for lock/unlock on those other 2 units. I did multiple tries of resetting and using the keypad to change handing, even after reaming out the strike hole, etc. to try to get those other 2 units to work. The key would lock/unlock it just fine. It might have something to do with my back door being 1 3/4" thick instead of 2" like my front door, thus to tighten the lock to the door it was a bit more work. This unit only comes with one set of bolts no matter how thick/thin your door is. I was able to install a brand new Yale Assure2 Plus on that back door without any problems (I should mention that the Assure 2 Plus comes with 3 different sizes of bolts to accommodate various door thicknesses), so if your heart isn't really set upon the brass color, I recommend just getting one of the Assure models to save yourself the headache.

Great z wave enabled smart keypad / deadbolt
My parent's are older and we were concerned about access to their house in an emergency. I ordered these and they were great. Well made and very reasonably priced compared to other brands I have used. They were easy to physically install and the connected first try to my Smartthings hub. There is also a Yale app that you can use. Now, if there is an emergency we can remotely open my parents doors. We can also lock the doors if they forget or set them to auto lock. Very good value for money. The only drawback was that the batteries in the package were dead (in both of the locks I ordered). I was initially afraid they weren't working but luckily my parents had some spare AA batteries. When I put them in, the locks powered up immediately.

Solid, easy to install and use
Good lock - extremely easy to install as long as your door fits the required measurements, especially the bore hole (we had to get a hole saw to expand ours). Easy to set up with codes and easy to use. Tapered deadbolt operates very smoothly. This lock is extremely convenient to use when carrying lots of items rather than having to keep a hand free for keys.
