Maseca Instant Corn Masa Flour, 1.8kg

Delivery was fine. My missus made 90 bollos out of this one pack. Freezed some for Xmas. Even though it wasn't the proper fresh corn masa from Zun Cal up the hill, they still came out great. Kids loved it, nice treat.

It's more expensive than in America. I wish it were more ready available in shops, so I wouldn't have to buy it online and pay postage. Other than that, it's great. It's like playing with play dough:) With a tortilla press, the process is very quick. Perfect for a quick, healthy lunch or dinner.

I really love this product. Arrived sooner than expected.

I am eating a 'wheat free' diet (not because of a wheat allergy or bowel condition like coeliacs disease) and decided I would like to try tortillas as they are made from corn flour. ALL the shop bought pre made tortillas contain wheat flour. I bought this flour to make tortillas, after I read that in order to make the tortillas you had to use masa harina flour. Normal and cheaper fine corn flour apparently won't work-the tortillas won't turn out as they are supposed to ( I did buy some cheaper fine corn flour, but I will use it to make something else) All you have to do to make the tortillas is add hot water to the flour to make a dough, kneed it to make it pliable, then leave the dough to rest for thirty minutes or so. I don't have a tortilla press, so I rolled the dough on some greaseproof paper with a rolling pin. Then all you have to to is cook them in a hot non stick frying pan or griddle pan for thirty seconds or so each side. Mine weren't the best looking tortillas in the world but with more practice I think I will achieve a better ROUND shaped tortilla. They did tastes very good though, with homemade salsa, homemade guacamole, and refried pinto beans. I will definitely make tortillas again (its a big 2kg bag of flour) and you never know I might even invest in a tortilla press. The only reason I didn't give this product five stars is because of the cost, its very expensive. It is definitely the most money I have ever spent on a bag of flour!

This Maseca product is absolutely amazing exactly the real one from mexico the flavour is 100 % delicious made from the real maiz, I am very happy with my purchase and I recognise that this product is original in flavour and texture, I highly recommend to anyone who wants to make some delicious corn tortillas, sopes and tamales for a real Mexican food.

I am surprised this product is not more popular in the UK. Gluten free, rich in soluble and insoluble fibre, much more nutritious than rice or potato, easy to handle, long shelf-life. If you want to make tortillas (for tacos, quesadillas, etc.) you only need to add 1.5 parts of lukewarm water for every part of flour. Delicious. Delivery was prompt and in good condition.

Excellent stuff, for making traditional Tortillas to the simple recipe provided and I found, for adding to recipes without gluten. It can be used for baking, as a direct wheat-flour substitute, with the addition of baking powder. I thoroughly recommend Maseca as an addition to the baking cupboard. It has a unique, slightly 'popcorn' flavour and is more versatile than it's traditional use would suggest.
