The Magnolia Story

I have been watching Fixer Upper on TV and have become quite addicted. I absolutely Iove the chemistry between them, they are so genuine. The book was a pleasure to read and reaffirmed what a lovely couple and great team they are. I would highly recommend this sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes unbelievable story of their lives so far. Thank you Chip and Joanna for giving us a glimpse into your amazing life.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Chip and Jo’s tv show. It has the same feeling. I found it inspiring, but also calming - like the show. I know I will return to read this again one day! And maybe a second book detailing the next chapter in their lives ... ?

I loved this book! You may know Chip and Joanna Gains from episodes of the fixer-upper (which I am addicted to!). They are a great, loveable couple who clearly work hard and possess a lot of talent between them, which complements each other so well. This confirms that the couple we see on screen is the same as reality. This is a straightforward book to read. You feel like you want to be friends with them and be involved with their lives and family. Reading through this feels like curling up with a snuggling, cosy blanket and a good hot chocolate. It’s well written in a conversational tone, making it like being told a story by friends. This is sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but consistently remarkable, genuine and inspiring.

Great book which tells the story of Jo and Chip, Magnolia and Fixer Upper in their own words.. The 'chat' that you see between them on TV is exactly the same in the book, with a running conversation going to and fro between them. Mark Dagostino has done a great job in bringing their words to life and has produced a book that is interesting and engaing and yet easy to read. My only (small) criticism is that they presume that everyone has encountered God the way that they have. I haven't and was keen to find out more about this. Maybe that's a cue for a second book..............

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about Chip & Joanna'a story from their first meeting through to their very successful career, and I can say without a doubt that they are two of the most endearing people I have read about in a very long time. It's very refreshing to read without anything having to bleeped out, well done Chip & Joanna

This book is the literary equivalent of snuggling up with a hot chocolate and fluffy blanket. It’s conversational style is very easy to take in. Yet the content is a real page-turner. You get the same feel-good fuzzies as watching their television show. Well worth the money, because I will certainly be reading this one, over and over again.

So decided to learn more about the family. Good story, well written, funny in places, glad I bought it.

What an amazing and interesting story. My husband and I loved watching Fixer Uper whilst in USA and actually managed to watch some over Easter too at home. They have obviously worked very hard and have come a long way since they first met. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story.

Funny and entreprenurial book, I liked the story and how the couple went to get business and personal success. I watched the show and that make me eager to read the book.

Nice little book. For some reason I thought it would be coffee table size. Looking forward to reading it. Novel size.

Me gusta este libro porque puedes ver la evolución como pareja a nivel personal y profesional se va forjando a lo largo de la historia. Esta pareja luchó por lo que realmente querían hacer aunque no tenían experiencia en ello y ahora tienen su propio programa de TV. Me encanta esta pareja porque es muy divertida, con sentido del humor y muy original. Este es un libro que vale la pena leer.

I felt very led by God to read this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed the testimonies of Chip and Joanna Gaines! Their transparency is so genuine and refreshing! I love the conversational style of the book by which they relate to their readers; each of them taking turns. The book is a true dialogue rendering their entire story -- which is miraculous, by the way. It's a joy to read! Having read the book, I can truly appreciate their struggles and all they've overcome to achieve the success they enjoy today. And it's no wonder why God has blessed them so richly with such a strong and vibrant platform! Their lives echo the sentiments so many Americans miss and long for, yet struggle to attain: the strength of family, a satisfying life that is truly fruitful, strong work ethic, strong community, loving friendships, and the joy of nature -- and of course, a love for God with a genuine faith. It all shines in this heartfelt book! I read the book in 8 hours and it is a page-turner. It's style is truly unique in that I feel I've just sat down with Chip and Joanna themselves for a long sweet visit over a pot of coffee. I have come away refreshed in my faith to see all God has done and continues to do in and through their lives. Their light shines for the world to see, and I am so grateful for ALL they are doing. I look forward to when I can visit Waco, TX! It is on my destination list! This is more than just a story or memoir. It's a testimony to God and His favor and blessing upon two people who serve Him as they serve others. An easy five stars! Thank you Chip and Joanna for sharing your hearts and lives so transparently. You are a great gift and example to many. God bless you, your family, and Magnolia for generations to come!
