Is this the clear or the hazy drum head?

I bought it wondering the same. It's the "hazy". Evans 300 hazy is labeled onto the head. It's a clear head though...

Is this the bottom or the top? It looks pretty transparent for a top snare head base from the images of those who purchased the item...

This is a bottom head for a snare drum and why it is thin. You can get different thicknesses of snares side heads to achieve different a sound.

What factors would you consider for choosing the size of this drum?

I would consider first the type of music I am playing it for. Woods have different tonal effects, so I will consider the material of the drum shell. Then I consider the top side head. Evans makes above average grade drum heads for sure. And they do last longer than other competitors, I've seen in 25 years of using Evan's.
