Please don't buy this laptop
Please don't buy this laptop. Although I was initially very pleased with the Lenovo Flex 2-14, there is a known issue with this model where it gets irrevocably stuck in sleep mode. Nothing functions, except the power button light which helpfully pulses every 8 seconds so you know the laptop isn't completely dead. Normally in this situation I would remove the battery to reset the laptop. However, as the Flex 2 has an internal battery and removing it would invalidate the warranty, the only solution is to wait for the computer to run out of battery, which on a full charge can take several weeks. Alternatively, you could of course send it back to Lenovo which would take even longer... Lenovo support has been of no help whatsoever, and this appears to be an issue for which they currently have no solution. Unfortunately in my case this happened a few weeks after the Amazon product return period expired. The laptop is only about 10 weeks old, so well within the guarantee period, but it is still a massive inconvenience. I wish I'd bought an HP instead.

but it is pretty good. Flex 2 is thin
I had doubts about the build quality, but it is pretty good. Flex 2 is thin, very portable and quiet. Most of the time it is cool, only warms up a little when sited on bed. The viewing angles are not great but acceptable. I bought the i3 version and it is fast enough. Sound is a little weird the first time but now I find it above average. Windows is starting and showing desktop in 14 seconds. It is actually faster than hibernation. Battery time is short. Not near the six hours promised by Lenovo. But for a notebook so thin this is all natural. Flex 2 changed my opinion about laptops. I am a fan of desktops, with big ass subwoofers, 26" screens, comfortable mouse (not s***ty touch pads that are so unproductive) and 13 MP full hd webcam. When I need to do power tasks I just connect it to my desktop peripherals and I get a full-fledged system. Perfect machine for casual to moderate users who wants high level of portability.

The touch screen works fine and makes Windows 8
This laptop does what it says on the tin, fast, responsive, quiet. The touch screen works fine and makes Windows 8.1 easy to navigate. Battery life is good as well. A different PSU connection to the laptop which i havent seen before, but this is very robust and should withstand daily use, unlike others. Ports are well positioned with easy access. The standard sized SD card slot is a handy addition, as this laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. Sound quality is good, and video and voice calls are clear as well. This laptop also has the added bonus of Bluetooth. A nice feature that Lenovo have included is to reverse the function and feature keys. So you have to hold down the function key to operate the F1-F12 keys, but you do not have to hold a function key down for the feature keys. These keys control things like volume, brightness, dual screen, etc. I would score it 9/10 on features, and 10/10 on value.

Not all bad but hoped for more.
This isn't all bad, but isn't really what I was hoping for. Firstly, the good: Really, really good screen. When at a higher brightness, this is crystal clear with very vibrant colours. Could not have asked for more with this. Great for watching films. Quite slim and not bad looking for a standard black laptop at this price range. Now the bad: Loads of Lenovo bloatware. Seriously, when will then learn? Has taken literally hours to get rid of all the rubbish they've pre-installed. Battery life really is not good. I get about 3 hours on a full charge, with the screen at about 2/3 brightness which is much less than expected. Not sure if this is related to the full HD screen? Keypad very average and has the annoying habit of randomly typing some letters twice. This is not fast - mine is the lower speed of the two available (i.e. not the i3), which is perhaps where I made my mistake, but can be frustratingly slow. Overall not really bad (2.5 out or 5 if I could but the disappointment has pushed it down to a 2). If I had the same choice again I'd pay a bit more and get something higher quality.

OK - but quick with an SSD.
I bought this for my mum, and found it to be ridiculously slow. The design of the laptop is good, however the touch screen is not brilliant. In the end I decided to stick an SSD in it, Windows 10 now boots in a matter of seconds and it performs much better now.

Excellent HD laptop for a bargain Price
As a mac user I was a little unsure whether it would be as good as my desk top mac or Ipad. I needed a laptop and the price was good although Amazon did reduce it another £40 a week after I bought it which was annoying. However I must admit using windows 8 is not as bad as when I last had an Windows XP computer with all those pop ups load this ,load that ,blue screens antivirus ,firewalls etc which you dont get on Mac. Overall Windows 8 Its a little quirky but easy to use. The laptop is well built and loads so quickly within seconds and the HD screen is excellent when watching TV on iplayer, skygo or videos .Out of the box I had it up and running in minutes.the touchscreen is good and works very well .I uninstalled the Free trial McAfee and used the free Windows defender which is preinstalled. For the price its a excellent laptop you wont be disappointed

Amazon mis-selling
Amazon sold this as a 1080p screen but the screen resolution is only 1366 x 768 so I wasn't to happy, I should of returned it but since it was an ok price I decided to keep it as it will do what I need it for, just wish amazon would advertise what they are selling better. laptop negatives is it runs better on windows 8.1 than 10, massive amount of bloatware, keyboard and mouse are pretty bad but at this range of the market I haven't seen a laptop with a decent mousepad.
