The down rod is exactly as described, and it fit perfectly as a replacement for a shorter down rod. The fan is now working as usual and looking much better than before. It was easy to install, even without any sort of instructions, since I only needed to unscrew the original and screw this one in. One word of advice is to make sure you pay attention when removing the original rod because there is a top/bottom orientation.

Needed to extend my Hunter Kennicott 52 in. Outdoor Matte Black Ceiling Fan with Wall Control (purchased somewhere else due to price and availability) and these worked perfectly. Brings the fan down on my 9' outside patio ceiling just enough. Good purchase.

Needed this to extend our fan. It was nice and thick and fit perfectly to extend the fan. It has lasted and there is no noise or shake.

This Hunter downrod certainly did the trick. Lowering our ceiling fans by another 12" has improved air circulation significantly. We have 10' ceilings, and the contractor that we hired to install all five ceiling fans never mentioned that downrods would be ... ummmm ... a good idea (took this electrician off my list). My husband ended up adding these extensions onto the fans himself, and since I didn't hear any swearing, I can only assume things went smoothly. That being said, I would highly recommend this downrod extension for ceiling fans, you'll feel the difference!

Installed this with a hunter anisten fan. 12 inches is what Hunter recommend for my 10 foot ceiling fan. You basically swap everything from the included 3 inch downrod to the 12 inch downrod. The only thing that was weird to me. Was this 12 inch downrod did not come with a grounding wire hole. I had to drill my own hole to install the ground wire which I wasn’t expecting to do .

My honeywell ceiling fan did not have a long enough down rod but this one did the job. My ceiling is angled about 10 degrees and this rod keeps the fan from hitting the ceiling. Best value

Yo lo compre junto con unos ventiladores de la misma marca, para no andar batallando. Y quedaron muy bien, pude instalar el ventilador a 12 pulgadas del techo y ahora estoy muy contento de haber comprado esta extension. Dude en comprarla porque había de otras marcas y medidas, pero preferí no aventurarme y comprarlo. No me arrepiento.
