Italeri 1:72 - German Infantry Winter Uniform

Arrived next day which was great, these German Infantry are new tooling- they are sturdily built and in winter uniforms so great for Russian Front games or dioramas or Battle of the Ardennes etc, poses are interesting.

The later part of the war the Germans had quite an assortment of winter clothing as part of their inventory; nonetheless, nine of the 12 poses in this set look to be wearing the same thing padded winter tunic. The Armaments are prodigiously rifles. There is also a submachine gun, a couple of the later StG44 assault rifles. All the weapons are good, and so too is the kit. Most have a complete complement, gas mask canister, canteen, mess tin, trenching tool. All the ammo pouches are applicable to the weapon carried. The clothing and some of the weapons make this very much a later-war set, which invokes up images of the Ardennes, Italy and numerous engagements in the eastern front. The general feel for this set is it is attractively produced but then again the lack of dynamism in the poses was poor, and any unit made up solely of these figures is not going to give the action sequences that some hobbyists may need in their dioramas.
