What size r the bricks

240 x 130 x 30mm and are very hard to cut it the need be

With added roof insulation the stove is too big. Would bricks be suitable as fillets to reduce burning space, bearing in mind the stove is cast iron

From you description I can only assume that your house gets too hot now because of new roof insulation and the KW output of fire? Adding bricks would not reduce the heat output once the fire gets up to operating condition - Remember the fuel cavity/crate in the fire is designed to be the size it is for a reason! I can only suggest that using the air vent controls to allow the fire to burn quicker will do the job however, this will burn more wood/coal. The only other thing is to open a window or two and/or internal doors, that's what I and I suspect many others do. Trial and error!

Can i use these to fit a little thurlowv stove

I purchased these bricks to reline a Villager stove as such the bricks didn’t directly fit I had to cut them to the correct shape using an angle grinder, you may have to do the same, sorry other than that I can’t help.

Hi, can I use these bricks in a stovax 5 ?

The bricks are a standard size they are not made for a particular stove, you may have to cut them, they are made from fire cement and are good quality I had to cut mine to fit correctly they are easy to cut with an angle grinder and a stone cutting disc.

Good quality

Very strong hard wearing fire bricks, tested these over a few weeks and they have stood up to extremes of temperature in a demanding situation where other bricks have failed.

Good alternative

Bought second hand woodburner which had the side firebricks missing. Morso replacements and others were cost prohibitive. Whilst these firebricks don't fit exactly they stay in place well and do the job. If I had the right tool to cut these bricks the fit would be better but I don't. These bricks as a package are rightly quite heavy but consequently two bricks had been damaged but still useable.

Good solid bricks that work well

Got these bricks for extra insulation for the back of my open forge, they work well and insulate very well. Hasn't crumbled or cracked as of yet with heavy use, which is always nice to see with fire bricks. I'd happly recommend these.

This was easy enough with a disc grinder

I had to buy two packs eventually because I found I needed nine. I had to trim one because my stove has slightly warped. This was easy enough with a disc grinder. I suppose you could use a tile cutter too. Good product and cheapest on amazon.
