It was very challenging to split open the geodes, but the 9 year old, whose gift it was, thought it was great fun.

Brought nephew for his 10th birthday he loves them!

My stepson enjoys collecting rocks and something similar, I thought this would be a great gift. He enjoyed it so much!

Very cool you but genuinely wish I had not gifted this to my 10 year old, as smashing through these proved difficult and the kit was soon abandoned.

I was really surprised with this, please ensure you purchase a hammer & chisel to break them open. The kit does not come with anything to break them open. Most of them were the same colours but we had a few different ones as well. Its basically the luck of the draw when it comes to variety. My son (8yrs) & I had a lot of fun breaking them open and inspecting each one. Its a great bonding exercise.

After mixed reviews I was undecided whether to buy this or not. However, my granddaughter absolutely loved it. Yes, most of the crystals were white but the exciting part was breaking them open. My granddaughter had a really good try at breaking them open but adult help is definitely required.

Rocks. A harmless gift for some awesome kids that have an interest in everything. Rocks. A terrifying gift that will have an army of small children running around with hammers and larger rocks crushing smaller rocks wherever that may be. Outside, in the garage, in the living room while I am getting a drink in the kitchen, in the kitchen when I am finding out what happened in the living room. Not my kids, not my house, I would 100% buy again.

This was a lot of fun! I got this for my 4 year old niece. She was definitely not strong enough to break the geodes but she loved giving it her all. Even dropping one off the balcony, and grabbing bigger rocks to drop on them. Yes, I know the box says 8+ but I figured, supervised and aided, she’s have a lot of fun & I was right. Worth the money! The geodes were decent. The biggest ones were very hard to break open. A chisel and a hammer were required. The smaller ones, surprisingly, had the prettiest sparkles in them. The pictures don’t do them justice. But there were a few very beautiful pieces out of this box.
