Johanna Spyri's Heidi is beautifully retold, following the exploits of the orphaned girl sent to live in the Alps with her grumpy grandfather. Part of Series 2 of the Usborne Young Reading Programme, specially written for readers growing in confidence, with clear, engaging text and stunning original illustrations. Developed in conjunction with reading experts from Roehampton University. Review: Classic stories children love to read ! - A very clearly written and delightful story with beautiful illustrations. Ideal to introduce children to Heidi. The plot is simple and accurate. The story is in easy to understand language and builds the Childs self-assurance in there ability to succeed and progress. Perfect for children who are ready for chapter books in terms of content but who like plenty of illustrations to look at in a book as well as words. These are a great series of stories and excellent quality books. Review: Delightful gift - Bought as present for neighbour's child to take to America where they are to take up a new life. Book is beautiful quality and unbeatable price

Perfect book for my little Heidi
Discovers the fresh air, mountains and adventure at her grandfathers and turned his cold heart warm again. It was a brilliant book. Of course my favourite character was the caring, courageous and funny Heidi, who inspired me to be more open and caring to others. My little Heidi loved a story with her name in and her favourite part was when everyone was happy. Great strater chapter book. Encouraging longer engagement and also allowing interaction with some pictures and reading for my 5-6 year old.

Timeless classic.
Timeless classic. Our daughter loves it and read it in one day. She has already returned to the book several times. I would rate the book as for 5-7 years old. The original storyline is kept but shortened a lot. The book has only 63 pages, print is big (I would guess font size 18) and there are pictures at each page. Overall, great book for young readers.

This book was not for me. It was a Christmas present for a little girl who asked for "Heidi" for her present. Since she was on the verge of turning the grand old age of 7, the complete text was not suitable. She loves the Unstead easy reading series and would probably want some more!!. But she will just have to wait for another suitable occasion

Lovely read!
Bought for my granddaughters as this was my childhood favourite. Condensed enough to make sense to a five year old but still an enjoyable story. She loved it as much as I did.
