My favourites!
These are my favourite pens! Such fine lines although they can be bothersome to clean. I use these for drawing rather than writing and the quality is impeccable. They are on the more expensive side but nowhere else can I get such consistently fine lines. I like that they are refillable (the isographs so much more so than the rapidographs). For good consistent flow without having to clean them, these pens need to be used regularly. Weeks without using them can lead to splotchy lines or blocked pens.

Reliable. ink flow joy. Refillable and sustainable. Zero waste.
This is a great pen. It draws smoothly and reliably. Takes India Ink which is waterproof and permanent. Way cheaper and sustainable to use a refillable pen than keep buying disposable pens. I bought a 250ml bottle of ink; way cheaper than the tiny ones. The steel nib will last forever. I use it most days. But if I leave it for a while, a good shake and the ink flows like a dream. I had been using cheaper brands, which were fine for a while, and then clogged and stopped working, even after extensive cleaning and faffing about. Grrr factor 10/10 after several months of use. As an artist and not a technical draughtsperson, I really rate these pens. Mine is a 0.6 nib. Can't vouch for the reliability of the finer nibs. However, it is too easy to over-tighten the grey nib holding section against the handle / barrel. Mine has a hairline crack, allowing the barrel to rotate a bit and be annoying. But it does not affect the drawing function, or ink flow, just the handling of the barrel. Still useable, but would like a better quality plastic at that point in the design. I have not been heavy handed with it. It was just a bit weak there on the thread. Having said which, it is far superior to the cheaper brands. I wasted money buying several cheapos, thinking I had simply bought a rogue pen initially. Not so. The working parts were just not as good as Rotring. Invest in the best.

Superb instruments
I bought my set of pens 45 years ago as an apprenticed draughtsman, unfortunately I lost my 0.35mm and it had ink in it. It has been salvaged and back to the normal standard but I bought a replacement for an urgent task. First, Rotring are no longer made in Germany but still charge German prices. The quality has changed, not for the good of the instrument. Ink reservoirs no longer have chrome bands to strengthen them, the new ones will not be usable in 45 years and the plastic is a lower quality and poorer feel. When I bought my set in 1980 it cost me 2 weeks pay which caused murder at home as I had to pay a weeks keep extra in advance and another in arrears and go a week with no money to myself. It was a requirement so I had no choice,16 year olds today would be screaming at how unfair it was whilst I was happy I had a trade. You must clean them in diluted Rotring cleaner fluid every 6-8 weeks depending upon upon usage, daily 8 whilst now and again 6 weeks, soak and rinse then dry and back to work or storage. NEVER STORE THEM WITH INK IN, I was lucky mine were German engineering the new Chinese might not be so good but I will not be able to let you know in 45 years.

Excellent and consistent technical pen
Very good pen for technical drawing, extremely consistent and controlable dark lines every time. Only dropping down from 5 stars as they can feel very scratchy to use and the tiny wire filament is super delicate so you need to be careful during maintenance.

Does not work
does not work. Also the pen given to me has like an ink that dried. May mean it was used before. Totally unhappy with this purchase.

Comfortable grip. Good ink flow for shading and line.

Quality
One of my favourite pens to use. Not heavy, easy to fill with ink. I've used these for over 40 years and they have never let me down.

I have purchased and used just about every brand of this type of drawing pen for over 50 years. I bought 3 thicknesses of this pen, and all are the perfect thicknesses---after being compared to all the "thickness" examples available for comparison. Most pens of this type will dry out as soon as a day without use, but these pens have lasted over 10 days just sitting on my desk. Extremely happy with this purchase, and I will certainly order more if I want additional drawing widths.
