– Urnex Grindz Coffee Grinder Cleaning Tablets, 430 g

I'd had my burr coffee bean grinder for 9 months and decided to treat it to a clean. Apart from brushing the dust out occasionally there's no other way to really clean the workings out other than to use cleaning tablets or take the machine apart which I didn't want to do. I followed the instructions and used 40 grams of tablets (as you can see in the video this wasn't many out of the previously full tub) and they came out with coffee bean detritus as expected. I then flushed through twice with some old beans I'd kept for this job. I can't say I noticed any difference in the taste of my coffee afterwards but I'll continue using the tablets every 9 months to keep the machine clean inside.

I have a DeLonghi bean-to-cup machine and this is an essential item to clean the grinding mechanism. Easy to use: recommended.

This is an excellent product if you own a burr grinder and want to still get good, fresh tasting coffee after months or even years of grinding your own beans. Yes, you can take the machine apart and clean it manually, and there is lots of help on the web about how to do this. But it is still a bit of a challenge, very fiddly and time-consuming, and who know whether you will even succeed in putting it all back together? By contrast, a quick flush through with Grindz is simplicity itself, and gives you an excellent result. Two things to note: for an ordinary, domestic grinder you only need about 40g of Grindz each time, so one pack will last you for ages. And - very important - you must buy some sacrificial coffee beans from the supermarket, something cheap as chips, or even a brand you don't like, use these to clean the machine through after Grindz has done its job, and then throw the resulting mess away (combination of ground coffee and the powder residue from the Grindz). I suspect that customers who have complained about funny tasting coffee after using Grindz haven't done this (or haven't done it enough). I had absolutely no problem after a couple of goes flushing through, and am now delighted with the result when grinding proper coffee beans that I actually like.

Had a grinder for a while and didn't realise you needed to use this until the grinding slowed down and a quick look on you tube showed how to use these cleaning tablets. Followed instructions and it worked as stated! Will be using on a regular basis from now on

It works well. Highly recommended for speedy cleaning of a grinder which saves taking the grinder apart and cleaning it manually. Was recommended by the manufacturer of my grinder.

Handy little granules that do seem to make a difference to the quality of the coffee my burr grinder produces

This saved my OXO Coffee Grinder from the trash heap. It was clogged and the grinder was greasy. Went through the hacks on cleaning the grinder using the brush and going underneath to clean the fine clump of coffee out of the chamber using a zip tie and getting into all the nooks and crannies. Washed the washable parts and brushed out all that can be brushed out. Everything is clean. Now here comes the Urnex Grindz tablets. I wasn't sure if this was going to work but followed the instructions: put in 35 grams of coffee and ground that through the hopper. The white power came out extremely fine along with some of the old coffee grinds. Did it again and more power and old coffee came out. It was very clean. Re-washed all the washable parts. Ground about 20 grams of coffee and dumped it; ran another 20 grams of coffee and ground that. Then grinding fresh coffee to brew came out perfect. It didn't feel like the old machine and the grounds came out smoothly. Ground 45 grams to make a small pot and the grounds came out smoothly. So the Oxo survived and working as if it was brand new. Works better than ever. Great cleaning tablets and well worth the money and effort to renew the grinder.

Testé sur machine à grains JURA Ena 4. Il faut absolument régler la mouture du grain sur fin, sinon les grains nettoyants forment une sorte de pâte dure et bouchent la machine. Plusieurs nettoyages ont été nécessaires afin de nettoyer le compartiment du marc de café.

It’s expensive but it works. I have an ECM coffee grinder that is used every day and clean it once a month with Grindz. After 5 years the grinder works like new.

I am sorry that I didn't know earlier about cleaning tablets . Now I am very happy about prolonging the live of my coffee grinder!
