It’s beautiful!
I wanted a beautiful sofa with a low back that was easy to keep clean and would create minimal dust. This one checked all the boxes so much so that I’m going to get a second one for my Airbnb. I needed a low backed sofa in my home because it faces the fireplace with French doors to the back of it. Didn’t want the French doors to be obscured. We also eat on the sofa most nights as we’re retired and can do whatever we want…lol. I’m a clean a phob when it comes to dust so always looking for ways to reduce. Excellent product, plenty comfortable to begin with but does soften in time to be even more comfrey. I’d highly recommend.

Great value, tested and determined that it is genuine leather
I researched this couch a lot before I finally purchased it. I read a lot of reviews that contradicted each other, so I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve had the couch for a few weeks now and wanted to give an in-depth review of my experience so far. First, the most important question for me was: is it real leather? Yes. This is genuine leather throughout the couch, however since this is the least expensive leather chesterfield you can buy, it is not luxury leather. There are three grades of real leather: full grain, top grain, and genuine. Genuine is lowest grade and that is what this couch appears to be. I verified this in four ways:1. When I removed the cushion covers, I saw the back of the leather was suede, which is commonly found on genuine leather. The leather is thin, but I have not had any punctures so far. My dog’s nails have scratched the leather, but not deeply. If this was bonded leather, there would be a fabric backing, but there is not.2. I opened the zippered flap underneath and took a very small sliver of extra leather and burned it. If there was plastic, it would have melted and smell like nasty chemicals, however this smelled like burned hair (gross, but indicates that this is real leather).3. The “press test” shows creases in the leather. Faux leather would not crease.4. The leather soaked up leather conditioner. This would not have happened with faux leather. As for the quality of the leather, it is adequate for the cost. There is some difference in the appearance in different spots of the couch, but that is to be expected with real leather, however some of the leather appears to be cut from different types or sections of the animal skin. Also, as other reviews mentioned, the leather is very dry upon arrival. I was ready with a 32 oz bottle of Lexol conditioner. I have applied 2 coats: an initial thick coat that I left on and a second one a couple weeks later that was following the directions on the bottle. This has helped the dryness a fair amount and the leather does look richer now, but not substantially. I tested Leather Honey on a hidden part of the couch and I really liked how supple it made that part feel, however it was much darker. The Lexol did not darken the leather, and I am overly happy with the result I had from it. I might apply Leather Honey in the future though because it really did hydrate the leather much better. I got the dark brown. I read the “black” version is more dark gray, so you might get a better “black” if you were to condition with Leather Honey which is known to darken leather. On delivery, the couch was in a cardboard box and it seemed to have been roughed up pretty good. The couch inside seems fine, but there are light scuffs around the base. Leather conditioner helped with these. Once I opened the box, there was a slight smell, but it dissipated in two days. The feet are inside the zippered flap and they seem adequate. The cushions are not leather all the way around, so be careful with the fabric contact with the Velcro attachment. The couch feels very sturdy and is comfortable to sit and rest arms along the top of the couch all the way around, which I like. I’ve fallen asleep on this couch several times already and it is comfortable. It is not plush, but it works great for my preferences. The styling is fine, however a critical eye will identify the flaws in the stitching, button placement, and some unevenness. This is NOT a luxury couch. This is a nice couch that will make most people think you dropped a lot more money than you did. The leather has started to wrinkle, crease already, but that is part of the charm, in my opinion.Overall, this seems like a great value for what you get if you are willing to put in some effort to condition it right away.

FULL review and important tips
After carefully inspecting this couch, I'm very happy to report it is 100% top grain leather ALL Around. It is NOT bonded leather nor does it use cheap synthetic leather on the sides and back. The finish is minimal, with no synthetic coating on the leather, which is what you want on real leather furniture. Note that spills WILL stain this real leather sofa, so I strongly recommend applying a water repelling leather conditioner to help with that. The sofa looks fantastic and is very comfy (on the stiffer side, which is what you want with chesterfield sofas). The photos I attached are before and after applying chamberlains leather milk no. 3 (conditioner and water repellent). The left side is untouched and right side has the conditioner applied so you can compare the contrast in appearance and color.I also attached photos of the underside which shows the guts and elastic bands that form the suspension for the seats and back (as opposed to metal springs/wire mesh).PLEASE NOTE: If you've never owned a real leather sofa before, or if you don't know much about leather, you MUST understand that real leather (such as this sofa) WILL easily scratch and have scuffs and wrinkles over time. No matter the quality of real leather, this will happen be because leather is animal skin. That's just the way it is.In fact, your sofa will likely have some scuffs straight from the factory as ours did. This is NORMAL. Just apply some goodeather conditioner and it will minimize the appearance of scuffs and make it harder (but not impossible) to scratch. If you want a leather sofa that always looks prestine, then you'll have to buy one with a bunch of synthetic crap coating the leather, which defeats the purpose and lasts only a few years before it starts to peel and look horrible. You also need to maintain leather by regularly applying leather conditioner. I use Chamberlains leather milk no. 3 but even basic automotive leather conditioner like Lexol will work fine and it's inexpensive. Just don't over do it.Pros:+Real 100% top grain leather all around+Leather scuffs and develops patina over time, which is exactly what we wanted+No synthetic coating on the leather+Dirt cheap price (usually a sofa like this costs over $3000)+Looks and feels great.+Free returns if you're not happy+Fast shipping: We received ours in 2 weeks when the Hooker leather furniture we ordered has an estimated wait time of 3+ monthsCons:-The suspension for the seating is comprised of a mesh of thick elastic bands as opposed to a long-lasting metal system of springs or cables. (see photos). However, this is definitely to be expected at this price point and the density of the cushions is good enough to hopefully prevent premature wear on them.-the leather has a number of minor blemishes and has sections that are significantly different in terms of texture than the adjacent leather, which is not a big deal unless you're a snob about it, in which case you shouldn't be looking at a leather sofa for less than $3,500. You'll need to move up to Hooker or Bradington Young to get more consistent texture in leather.Hope this helps and feel free to ask questions.

I like it
Deep seat but I'm still comfortable and I'm only 5'3". I appreciate the firmness and support, but I also like a firm mattress. My family on the other hand prefers our old, squishy, couch. I'm hoping they warm up to it. It looks great, exactly what I was looking for in terms of style. The fabric is soft. I did spray it with scotch guard as I have kids and pets. FYI The delivery was flawless and the legs are found in the underside of the couch as they screw on.
