Halti Headcollar for Dogs | Size 3, Black

A game changer for a strong dog I honestly wish I had bought this sooner! I have a very large, strong dog,(70kg Caucasian Sheppard) and walking him could be hard work when he decided he wanted to go somewhere very different from where I wanted to go! 😂 Since using the Halti, the difference has been incredible. It gives me so much more control without having to constantly fight against the lead. It’s comfortable, lightweight and seems very well made. The padded nose band is a particularly nice touch, and once adjusted properly it sits securely without looking uncomfortable for him. I also really like the reflective detailing. Most importantly, it actually works. He is much easier to manage on walks and I feel far more confident and in control. It hasn’t magically turned him into a perfectly behaved dog overnight 😂, but it has made walks considerably more enjoyable for both of us. For anyone with a strong dog who pulls, I would absolutely recommend giving this a try. Worth every penny.

My dog is 7 years old, 20 kg and since she was a pup it was impossible for me to teach her to walk properly. She would get extremely excited when outside the home and no treat would make her stop pulling. I had to put her on a choker because she would get out of the harness/collar and/or knock me over. I nearly lost her once. My partner was the only person that could take her on a walk, she was much stronger than me and I always felt very sad because I am a very active person and I couldn't take her with me running, swimming, trekking etc. She would also lunge at any other animal and attack. I got this collar without any expectation that it would make a difference. I was almost sure she would get out of it in seconds. First time we walked in the house, then in our yard, then outside for a small walk, for her to get used to it. Then I took her out for our normal route. Unbelievable results!! It is the first time in 7 years that I took my dog out without assistance and without stressing out! She took to it very well. She will paw at it a little in the first few steps but then she doesn't really care. Another dog came towards us and she didn't lunge or bark or go insane! I feel like we can do so many more things together in the future. This is not an expensive product and if you have the same issues as I did you need to try it out, even if it fails, it's worth it. If your dog isn't "difficult" and stubborn they will, with some training, get used to it. Don't just put it on and go out - you need to make the dog get used to it first in a controlled environment and after a few successful attempts you can try it outside. I don't have it for a long time but from the reviews it seems like it's durability isn't very long. If it does break down I will buy a new one for sure. It has taken away all the stress and sadness of not being able to have fun with my dog. One note I will make is that when she pulls, it goes close to her eye, not in it but close and I feel like it could be a bit uncomfortable for her. But after a few walks she got the drill and stopped pulling on it. She also understood that when she is not pulling she can open her mouth, pant happily and go on a normal walk like all other doggies. I urge you to give this a chance if you are experiencing the same issues. It will change your relationship with your dog for ever.

I have a very silly Dobermann who is incredibly strong, energetic and stubborn but gorgeous and sweet too :). She pulls like crazy when excited, which is often, and forgets all her training on walking nicely on the lead. This Halti collar makes it easier for me to control her, but it doesn't stop her from pulling when she really wants to. It was great the first few weeks, but she got used to it and figured out how to still pull with it on. That being said, it's the only thing I can walk her with, and it does help make lead training easier. Durability is pretty bad though. The little clip gets stiff, the collar itself start falling apart and I have gone through 2 in the last 8 months and am about to order a third.

Before I get into the full review my first indication was that they may be a little flimsy, but this is just meant for the head and not entire body and the price point sort of indicates the amount of material your getting. That said I saw no issues with it, the seams seem perfectly fine and I found adjusting them easy enough. Just a little context. I have two dogs that I walk and I've trying to walking them on a single leads which has two attachments (one for each dog). Which as the youngest has become older is a nightmare and so resulted in me going back to having my male dog back on the figure 8 leads. We have tried putting the younger female dog on a figure but she has proven much more resistant to it. My male dog is half beagle and so is driven by his nose, while the female is very sound based and so is more alert to what is happening around her (part of the problem of walking them both, they care about completely different things) I had this on my female dog twice before attempting to walk with it and she just paws at her face trying to get it off. This is as expected and why they recommend treats. I knew this was going to happen though, as stated in the context she has been resistance to the figure 8 leads. My male dog Milo took much better to it, but he also wanted to get it off every now and again... probably more as he knew he wasn't walking anywhere. This morning came the real test. I put the harnesses and head harness on each dog. When we got outside the female dog got it off pretty much as soon as we left (still in the garden) and so we had to went back in put it back on and attempted again. Attempt 2 was much better, she was walking but would still stop to try and paw it off. After removing her paw a few times and the male trying to pull a different direction she adjusted and just walked with. Once the walk had actually begun (2+ minutes of walking with no stops) everything seemed fine, she would still occasionally stop and attempt to get it off and I would remove paw and continue the walk. Very quickly they were both far better to walk, they were actually considering were the other was and were walking side by side. They started realising they'd need to wait if the male was smelling or the female was checking a lot sound out (usually a truck driving by). This next part is only in part about the head harness. The only thing I found about this is that in unison with the joint dog lead, is that they'd keep getting tangled and because they are getting pulled down by the nuzzle they just sort of stop or paw at their face... so just be more alert and ensure the lead is high enough not to get caught on which ever dog is taller. Once we were back the female dog was really happy, so she seemed to enjoy her walk (super tail wags). The male was happy, but he was less resistant and its sort of the norm him getting walked on the figure 8. FYI - I bought a cream one and a green one, both size 3. I wasn't expected any differences and there weren't any.

I have always bought haltis and never had any issues till my most recent purchase. I buy size 3 as they fit nicely on my Labradors. I lost my last number 3 and replaced it with a lovely red one. It was too small in the muzzle area, I felt it was too restrictive. It also needed extended to its fullest. This must mean they’ve changed suppliers, or mine may have been incorrectly marked as size 3. I have received a full refund. I’m nervous about trying a 4 as it’ll probably be far too big.

This product arrived within the time frame specified in the delivery details. It arrived in the typical Amazon cardboard envelope style packaging as it is a slim product. This style of packaging is ideal as it is very easy to open and doesn't require scissors. The product and packaging arrived in excellent condition. With regards to the packaging of the product itself, it is encased in a clear plastic casing, which surprisingly is VERY easy to open. It does not use the old style plastic packaging which is a nightmare to get into but instead, an easy open box style packaging whereby the front simply pops open and is easily revealed and reused. As a whole the packaging is aesthetically pleasing, it has an image of a size relevant dog on the casing and clearly shows how to fit the halti. In addition, enclosed is a small booklet with fitting instructions and tips and tricks for training your dog as this is the purpose of the product. The product itself is black in colour so gender neutral and its strong. It is clearly of excellent quality and manufactured well, very durable and easy to use. The stamps to fasten around the neck of your dog have the ability to be made slightly smaller or bigger should you require it but you should also ensure you buy a size specific one for your dog as the nose band does not. The nose band can be made tighter as it has a small buckle underneath but this would not compensate for ordering an unsuitable size. This product is, as mentioned incredibly easy to fit and works wonders for dogs in training and or those who like to pull. Our dog HATES her halti because she knows she cannot pull us, funnily enough we LOVE the product. It does not harm the dog nor is it uncomfortable for the dog, quite simply it does the exact job it promises and eases the pulling. We have used this product for a few weeks now, and saw effects immediately and are continuing to see improvements. Based on this I am more than happy to award this product 5 stars!!! Excellent value for money!

I definitely recommend this if your dog tends to pull when on the lead. It’s not a miracle cure but it does reduce it a lot.

I bought the Halti Headcollar (Size 3, Red) for my 18‑month‑old Labrador who pulls like a steam train and wants to greet every passing dog as if it’s his long‑lost best friend! This headcollar has genuinely transformed our walks. The moment I put it on, I had instant control. No more lunging, no more zig‑zagging, no more wrestling with the lead. He still gets excited, but the Halti redirects that energy safely and gently, so I can actually manage all four dogs on one walk without feeling like I’m flying a kite in a hurricane. The fit is secure, the padding is comfortable, and the red colour looks great. My boy accepted it quickly, and it hasn’t rubbed or bothered him at all. If you have a strong puller — especially a big, enthusiastic breed — this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for multi‑dog households and anyone with a determined puller. Total game‑changer.

Packaging looks underwhelming. I hope it's a brand new product. It does look new. Sizing wise is perfect for my mini golden doodle who is 13kg.

Much more effective than a choke chain for a strong dog. My dog initially found it annoying to have it on his face but when he got the idea that it meant freedom going for a walk he stopped worrying about it. Works a treat.

Absolute game changer! Such a simple design that has revolutionised our walks! We have a strong medium dog and he wouldn’t stop pulling, this collar fixed it in one outing. Nice design, subtle and love that it rewards not pulling by being less restrictive. The reflective aspect is also a bonus. Highly recommend!
