Very pleased with this external blu-ray drive! I have been hesitant buying one for a while, due to mixed reviews on various other brands' drives, but after seeing the good reviews for this one, i decided to purchase. The build quality is great. Much more solid than the external dvd drive i have. The sleek stand gives it a cool aesthetic look, and helps with space. I've ripped several blu-ray music discs so far, and they transferred quick. After that, i've tested playing some blu-ray's, using powerdvd, and they all started up fairly quick, and without issues. The cable length could have been a bit longer, as i use a electric standing desk, and won't be able to use this while i am standing, but it's fine to use for sitting. I plan to use this to back up all my blu-ray/dvd media, so hopefully it will do that without much issue! Apart from that, i'm very pleased with the purchase, and to say blu-ray drives don't really get produced nowadays, i was happy with the price, especially after noticing some of the higher prices for now delisted drives. I highly recommemd this product, for anyone needing an external blu-ray drive!

Excellent Blu-ray read/writer. I bought this for the sole purpose of ripping my Blu-ray and dvd collection and digitise my movies. So far it has worked flawlessly. Not the great build but it’s what’s inside that counts, very quiet, easy to eject and a long enough cable. You have to use both usb ends of the y cable so it has enough power. Great buy.

Good product. Ideal for those who don't like cloud storage. It’s plasticky like most stuff these days but does the job.

I'm a regular amazon customer and purchase all sorts of things both low and high value. I have been for many many years. This is the first item I have returned, ever, - the purchase was such a bad one. I have an ASUS gaming computer and run windows 10. I'm not a computer oriented person - just a normal user. I bought this item mainly to watch blu ray dvds on my ASUS laptop. I bought an Asus one, even though by no means the cheapest because I expected quality, I expected that it would talk to my ASUS laptop pretty easily and readily and I expected decent support. The instructions that arrived with it are insultingly banal - basically 'this is how to plug it in'. Beyond that, forget it. The programs on the disc supplied were clunky and 3 out of 5 would not install properly. Asus own support website presented no especial recognition that it even makes such a product and Amazon support were still stooging around after 20 minutes with no real start on the issue. So I gave up - I dont need to spend £90 on buying a problem. You would imagine, wouldn't you, that paying £90 for something it would come with someone making even basic minimal effort to tell you how to make it work? Basically, ASUS's customer service seems to consist of ' you work it out yourself, mug, because we cant be bothered with you.' Well I'm not spending any more fruitless time on it, I'm returning it - have it back ASUS, and right back atcha.

Works fine with creating backups and ripping of Blurays. Reads DVDs without issue so far. Only issue is the stand, it can't be reversed, and as it leans to one side (for stability) it limits the positions you can use it in. If you lay it flat, it's quite noisy, so using the stand is almost required.

Works like a charm so far. Not the fastest but nice and slim. :) It supports m-disc : woohoo.. Tip 1: If it stops working its because windows installs the wrong driver automatically during windows updates. Just roll-back the driver and you are good to go. Tip2: Using a low powered laptop? It can work via a powered usb v2 or v3 hub or by plugging in the second usb port into a powered usb charger (1amp+) and the other into your laptop or pc.

This a great little Blu-Ray writer. Connected straight to an iMac, created a .img file to the hard drive from FCPX and then Blu-ray Disc. It worked first time out of the box, no software installed. The Seller, CCL Computers was also very good and recommend buying from them.

Only problem I had was that no drivers came with the drive and setting it up on Windows 10 took me considerable time, as plug and play didn't work. Updating Network Decice Driver in the end solved the issue.
