Fantastic book for beginners and returners to the craft.
A lovely, modern, inspiring book. This is a great book for beginners, as its goes through tools, tips, and skills before patterns at the end. Its very clear where you can customise designs, such as to make a door covering wider. The pictures are really clear and easy to follow to make some really great home decor, and then venture on to your own designs if you like. Not every design is to my taste, but Im definitely wanting to make several of them for starters, so excellent value. The designs range from dream catchers and plant pot holders to full door and bench coverings, with multiple styles for the smaller items to choose from. I have found the all supplies easy to find online - mostly on Amazon! I like to learn at least one new craft each year, and am pretty sure this is the only book I will need on macrame, despite my very large plans ;) !

Amazing and inspiring book :)
Great book full of amazing ideas. Tutorials and patterns are easy to follow and everything is so very well explained. The amounts and types of cord needed and lengths are given for each project in this book so no waisted cord or worry that you might run out :) Ideal and very handy to have when making patterns and projects of your own, just for inspiration or help with certain knots or even when you need a rough idea of what amount of cord to use. In all a fantastic book very well designed. Already asked Santa to bring me Macramé 2 for Christmas haha :) Rosie

Very good book for beginners, lovely projects!
I was a complete beginner to macrame and got this book to learn and make some projects. I have loved this book a lot, I've made a few of the projects so far and been very happy with how they all turned out. As a total beginner I did find some of the instructions on certain knots difficult to interpret, but of course it is sometimes difficult to convey practical things on a page. After reading the instructions a few times I managed to figure it out. On the other hand the instructions for the projects themselves are very easy to follow. I have found (like one of the other reviewers) that the stated lengths of cord have been too long and I've been left with a lot of leftovers so I have cut the lengths down myself, however this may be a personal thing to do with how tightly I knot. Overall I would highly recommend this book.

Very good but not for a real beginner
I love this book- just right for one year on in my macramé learning. I would say it’s a bit advanced for a beginner , you need a basic book with basic knots and projects and a bit of practise under your belt otherwise you might struggle here. I’ve got a good grasp of the basics and have made many items so now ready for more challenges and this book unravels the mystery of how to make some of the amazing things I see on Instagram . I made the tree of life macramé ring in one evening using the instructions- the step numbered diagrams are good and really helped me get through some of the new knots and trickier construction. Lots of projects I want to make. Great book!

Great Book, well illustrated, easy to follow, some nice projects
Watched a video on you tube on macrame, next day made my first macrame jar holder (for a garden lamp). Decided to purchase this book so as to learn more knots and maybe do some of the projects. Book is well illustrated and easy to follow as long as you get to know the knots and advance through the book. Coming from a nautical background I found learning the knots very easy as already knew some of them but by a different name. I will find this book useful and will probably do a few of the projects in the book. Would recommend to any one wishing to get a start in macrame.

Very pleased with this book .
I bought this to renew my 1970's macramé skills and get some new patterns. The knots are clearly described with diagrams and the patterns easy to follow. The finished projects look really good when completed. My neighbour's 12 year old daughter was interested in learning this craft so I loaned her the book , showed her the basic knots ( socially distanced and with masks). She picked it up straightaway and has made some lovely Christmas gifts for family. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a good book to either start out with this craft or update skills.

Easy step by step guide
I first learnt macrame years ago at school and have just started doing it again. This book helped me remember how to do the basics. It's got lots of general information but also shows you complete finished projects with easy step by step ways to do it. Helps you to start using your own imagination. It's a brilliant book for beginners and good value for money.

Unclear instructions -- needed to check knots online
I started making the Flora plant pot holder but I found the written instructions very vague and not very helpful. For example, it mentions the reader to do a SK, but there is no explicit SK (there are different types) in the book. I needed to check online in the end. The crown knot at the end was even harder to comprehend. It would have been better if the book provided more step by steps for the knots themselves to break it down the explanation in the text.
