Great for making your own penetrating oil, make sure you use a decent Acetone.

Use it mixed with acetone to unseize bolts and other parts - it's excellent for that.
Use it mixed with acetone to free corroded/seized bolts and other parts stuck together - better than WD 40 and the rest. You only need a small amount to unseize bolts etc. That leaves plenty for your automatic transmission but I don't know how well it works on them.
