SABRENT 2TB External Aluminum SSD, Rocket Nano V2, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, 1500 MB/s Transfer Speeds [SB-2TB-NAV2]

The Sabrent Rocket Nano V2 external SSD offers outstanding value compared to the competition. I'm using it with a MacBook Pro M3 to store and work with large photo libraries (400+ GB), and it has performed flawlessly. Because of the USB limitations on the Mac, I'm not able to take full advantage of the drive's maximum advertised speeds. Even so, it's still extremely fast. My photo libraries load quickly, editing is smooth, and large file transfers complete in a fraction of the time compared to traditional external drives. A nice bonus is that it includes both USB-C and USB-A cables. Many manufacturers only include one cable, so having both in the box adds convenience and value. Before purchasing, I did some research and found that this SSD uses quality internal components, which gave me additional confidence in its reliability. It also stays cool to the touch, even during large file transfers, which is impressive. Overall, this has been an excellent purchase. If you're looking for a fast, reliable external SSD with great performance and value, I would highly recommend.

This is a great 4TB external SSD. I love the small size so it's quite portable. Transfer speed is adequate for my needs. Worked out of the box with my old HP laptop.

This drive is small, sturdy, and super handy. Transfer speeds are blazing fast, just as advertised, and it handles large files with ease. The aluminum case with silicone cover gives it a solid feel, so you don’t have to worry about knocks or drops. Feels like it has endless storage in such a tiny form!. Perfect for 4K/8K video workflows on the go. Highly recommended!

I love it very good external hard drive

The spec on paper reads about 1500 megabits per second read/ write, compared to the SanDisk Extreme pro's, which are somewhere in the 2000 megabits per second range, but this thing is crazy fast! I'm using it to back up my Google drive, through a drive imaging software, as well as straight file transfer both of which run at around 22 gig in volume. The transfer time from my PC to the SSD was about 2 minutes to do 22 gigs and around the same to do it as backup drive image. I then tried it to do the same transfer to and from my Samsung S23 Ultra, and it was as quick as doing it from a PC. So all in all, this thing is incredibly quick and it's half the size of a SanDisk SSD. I also like it for its size and the aluminum case as well. It came with a protective rubber sheath, which is perfect to keep the finish looking nice and clean. It's the first time I move away from SanDisk to another brand and I'm not disappointed! It's a bit more expensive than the SanDisk, but worth every penny.

I am surprised how little heat it creates. It is also very fast and in such a small size. So far so good! I don't feel any heat even on a huge load. Btw, I currently use a linux distro and semi old hardware with usb 3.0. It runs pretty fast even on that. Not as fast, but still pretty darn impressive. Take note anyone who uses old hardware though, it won't be nearly as fast, but it will still be better than using other external drives that are from the same era. For me, getting at least 500MB per second even on an old thinkpad from ivy bridge era is not hard. As long as the laptop isn't overheating too much. Doesn't run hot or even warm at all though. Ran it for an hour straight and more and felt no heat though. I recommend this highly as speed/stability goes. Not sure if nvme has any secrets that are problematic, but probably no more than the older hardware types. I have two 2TB versions and one 1TB. Plan to use two for the same purpose and one for a live install. I recommend this drive immensely.

I bought their previous generation of this product after reading all the terrible reviews on it, about how slow it is, and you might get the rated speeds for a minute before it nose dives into oblivion. Which is annoying given how nice and small these things are, but I came prepared, both back then and this time around. HEAT SINKS!!! 50mm x 25mm x 10mm with thermal pad pre-applied. It works, they don't get hot. This version is nice, since it comes with a silicone bumper. SO... Took that to heart, and placed the heat sink on top where the giant hole is which I assume is there to allow the unit to breath. DOES, sadly double its height, but keeps it cool and gets better performance. I get about 1,000MBs sustained. I remember I took my thermostat gun to the old Sabrent and it got to 110F. Which means inside it was a lot hotter and hit its thermal junction. This stays safe to the touch even after 4hrs of file transferring after the heat sink mod. So, I came into both products EXPECTING this issue, and having had enough thumb drives and SSDs, I'm used to these issues and know how to correct them. By the way, the 4pk of Heat Sinks (50mm x 25mm x 10mm) cost me $10. Conclusion: It's the smallest 4TB drive out there, at a decent price and decent speeds. THOUGH, the Sandisk Extreme Pro does stay cool and does do double the speed for less price while not requiring post-purchase modding. I like this due to its size and industrial look. I do recommend it, if you don't mind do the heat sink hack and adding 10mm to its z-height. Though the Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Pros do weigh more than this device even with the 12g heat sink mod. It puts this device's total weight at 62g or over 2 ounces. It's lighter and technically has a slightly smaller footprint than the Sandisk option. I have both so I don't have to choose. I like it, knew what I was getting into and prepared as such.

Ho già trasferito 2TB di dati dal vecchio ROCKET Nano 2T al nuovo 4T. Non ho avuto problemi, tutto è stato trasferito in poco tempo. Per quello che ho potuto vedere il nuovo ROCKET Nano 4T è molto veloce Non ho note negative

Better than expected. Smaller and more compact than my SanDisk comparative storage drives. Also once I encrypt the drive it has a faster response time when sorting and searching. Which I guess relates to read speed, write speed seems to be as advertised. Unit comes with a removable silicone cover which is handy for transport I guess. I have since purchased additional units with the same quality and performance.

hey for a not too expensive H/D this ain't half bad. very fast, really small, not featherweight but feels solid and well built. good rubber sleeve and I feel I can really just throw this into my overstuffed bag and be confident that It'll work when I take it out. will be buying another. just bought my second and am even more impressed. heats up a little but take off the jacket and it cools right down. pj
