Frontier Co-op Rubbed Sage Leaf, 1-Pound, Sweet, Earthy Flavor With Hints of Mint, Pairs with Garlic & Rosemary, Kosher

I have been looking for rubbed sage in several places around town and it has been hard to find. I did find it in a local food co op store, but they are often out as it seems to be a popular herb. I was happy to find this rubbed sage on Amazon and even happier with its quality. This sage is fresh smelling and fragrant, and adds fabulous flavor. I especially like adding it to hamburger patties, along with cumin, garlic salt, dried mushrooms and fresh grated onions prior to grilling. The resulting hamburgers always get massive raves from friends and family and they just don't taste the same without the rubbed sage. The 16 oz bag is very large and did not have a re-closable top, so I just put it in a large ziplock freezer bag. Great price for a fresh, flavorful herb.

Very nice sage. I bought a bag and used it to pack cigarette papers in to smoke while trying to quit tobacco. It is soothing to smoke and smells very wild in a sweet way. I've had no side effects from using it but I have discovered it has a potent aphrodisiac effect. It may create a Viagra type of effect so it must be very good for blood circulation. The reason it packs well with a cigarette machine is because it's a very fuzzy species of sage unlike the silver sage plant which is coarse when dried. I have tried several types of smoke able herbs and this is in my top three favorite. It's a good value for your buck and this company is great to buy from!

I've enjoyed this sage for some time now, as it's such a large amount for me to consume. I'm the only one in my family who uses it. I use more than average in a dish because I love the flavor and texture. It's soft so it's possible to use more of it at once than you'd probably expect. Of all the herbs I've purchased on Amazon, this might be my favorite.

As far as I can tell, this is an excellent quality sage, the real stuff. It has the same aroma and taste as our homegrown that we used in making pork sausage when I was a boy. We have used it with good results in soups, stews, stuffing, and for remaking the standard bland pork sausage from the grocery. Buying it by the pound from a reliable source such as Frontier is far less expensive than the tiny spice containers found in grocery stores, and a pound goes a long way. If you choose to do so, you can grind it into a powder with a good coffee mill such as the Epica Electric Spice and Coffee Grinder from Amazon.

Very flavorful and a great deal for a lot of Sage! I did notice a lot of Sage stems but that is to be expected. They are fine to use just something to be aware of if you wanted only leaves. This is a lot of Basil! To put it in perspective, this bag will fill more then 5 of the Ball Pint Regular Mouth Jars and Lids BPA Free, 16 oz, Set of 12 . If you pack it down, it might fit in 4 or 5 jars. The bags do not have zippers on them so you have to decant it into jars. The Ball jars are perfect for this. I can definitely recommend this!

I found myself running out of the 2 ounce glass bottles of Sage that I would normally purchase, so I decided to order this big 1 pound bag which will last me quite a while and at the same time being much cheaper than buying multiple 2 ounce glass bottles. I will use this bag to refill my glass bottle as needed. The sage I received is sourced from India, the expiration date was fine and there was freshness inside. This is my second time ordering from Frontier Co-op and i would do so again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This pkg of rubbed sage is of the quality we've come to expect from Frontier. The last purchase we made was below standard, but after doing business with Frontier for a good amount of time, we decided to take another change and order this sage. Glad we did. The only reason we did not give a 5-star is that once you open the bag, you can't close it again, so you have to be prepared with a ziplock bag or some other kind of storage to keep it fresh.

Great for herbal tea.
