When the Huns attack China, a call to arms goes out to every village, and Mulan's father, being the only man in the family, accepts the call. Mulan (voiced by Ming-Na Wen, sung by Lea Salonga) has just made a disastrous appearance at the Matchmaker and decides to challenge society's expectations (being a bride). She steals her father's conscription notice, cuts her hair and impersonates a man to join the army. She goes to boot camp, learning to fit in with the other soldiers with some help from her sidekick, Mushu, a wise-cracking dragon (voiced by Eddie Murphy). She trains, and soon faces the Huns eye to eye to protect her Emperor. The film is gorgeous to look at, with a superior blend of classic and computer-generated animation. Directors Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook make the best of it: a battle in the snowy mountains is as thrilling as the best Hollywood action films. The menacing Huns are not cute but simple and bad. The wickedness is subtle, not disturbing. The film is not a fully fledged musical, as it has only five songs (the best, "Be a Man", is sung during boot camp). Eddie Murphy is an inspired choice for the comic-relief dragon, but his lines are not as clever as Robin Williams' in Aladdin. These are minor quibbles, though. In Disney's telling, the character animation, the music, and Eddie Murphy's voicing of Mushu the Dragon are "new" style elements; while animation of buildings and landscapes are "old" style, and very beautiful. Most importantly, the story development is also in the old style, with finely crafted characters you care about. This results in a film which is emotionally affecting for adults as well as children, though on differing levels. Mulan expertly mixes cartoon slapstick, clever dialogue, magnificent sights and sounds, and eye-misting emotion, creating a powerful experience the memory of which is likely to last for a very long time. The films from Disney Studios have been hit-and-miss since the passing of Walt Disney, and Mulan is one of the hits. Perhaps the strangest example of the bull's eye scored by this film is Eddie Murphy as Mushu, with an accent that is seemingly so out of place, and yet so perfect. The Blu-ray edition heightens the effect of the thunderous soundtrack and the beautiful animation, offering a grand evening's entertainment for the entire family. Our favourite disney movie
This is my favourite disney movie because its fun for the whole family. It has the perfect mix with comedy and also a tear jerker

Love the film, great and very prompt service from vendor
Love this film, bought as a Christmas treat! Surprising how enjoyable traditional ‘drawn’ animation is , after all the highly sophisticated CGI in almost every film these days.

Finally watched it and glad I did
In the run up to a visit to Disney World I decided I should check out some of the bigger Disney titles I had not watched yet and Mulan was one of the ones at the top of the list. The film was beautifully animated, had a great storyline and the music + songs worked well while not being the best offerings for a Disney film. This is a film that I had watched a few times since I purchased it and despite getting rid of some of the other Disney films it has remained firmly in the collection.

Who is that girl I seee.....
My fave Disney movie, great for adults and kids alike. Very much a girl power orientated film and actually shy's away from a love story. Every song is powerful, the fact that it is based on fact too is interesting, love Mulan so much I used to wish I was Chinese when I was a kid (and still do) It will make you shed a few tears too, real feel good ending.

AMAZING!
In one of the best animated classics, young Mulan must risk her life to save her father from certain death. She volunteers for the war which provers to be thrilling, scary and very hard. But will she be revealed as a woman? This film is completely and utterly hilarious!!!!! There are absolutely no bits i dont like. It is either scary, hilarious or gripping and the battle secenes are infrequent but when they comde they make you laugh, cry and tremble. Buy this musical masterpeice edition now!

La versión Ultra HD tan sólo está disponible en Español de Latinoamérica, pero la versión en Bluray está también en Español de España. Por lo demás, esta película está muchísimo mejor que la nueva versión en live action que ha sacado Disney.

Such a cute movie ! I loved Disney movies and have them in my collection . Milan. I love it about honoring your family wit good morals and you can be your own person came in great condition if you love Disney movies like me You will love it ! I highly recommend

Plays great in our blu ray. Got it to replace an old video tape that wore out. Our daughter loves the story and this disc is a good product.
