Behringer DI400P Ultra-DI Passive DI Box

I recently purchased the Behringer DI400P Ultra-DI Passive DI Box, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. From the moment I started using it, I've had nothing but positive experiences. Firstly, I haven't encountered any issues whatsoever. The DI box operates flawlessly, delivering clean and clear signals without any noise interference. This level of performance has greatly enhanced my audio setup, allowing for professional-quality sound reproduction. Moreover, the DI400P is incredibly comfortable to use. Its compact and lightweight design makes it easy to transport and integrate into my setup without taking up too much space. Whether I'm using it in the studio or on stage, it's always a reliable companion. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Behringer DI400P Ultra-DI Passive DI Box has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, reliability, and comfort. It's definitely a must-have for any audio enthusiast or professional musician.

This simple DI-Box gives excellent unbalanced to balanced conversion and ground isolation, due to its inbuilt audio transformer, but users need to be aware of the limitations of this type of DI-Box. It can easily handle speaker-level signals but is unlikely to be very good with mic-level signals. Best results will be obtained when the unbalanced input is fed from a low-impedance signal source and the balanced output goes to a medium to high impedance input (e.g. mixing desk). Incidentally, the product information states that the unit uses the Behringer OT-2 magnetically shielded transformer. This was not the case with the unit I bought from Amazon, which was fitted with a basic unshielded transformer. This will likely make this version susceptible to magnetic hum pick up, so it is advisable to keep it away from mains transformers.

The Behringer DI400P Ultra-DI Passive DI Box feels pretty sturdy and does exactly what it's supposed to, converts the unbalanced high-impedance output of an instrument to balanced low impedance signal. Just plug in your instrument and feed straight into your audio interface. No batteries, no power source, no complications. What I will say is... if you've never used DI boxes before and aren't sure what you should purchase, do a little research and check whether you'd be better off purchasing an active DI box. Low output devices such as old guitars, basses and keyboards aren't going to sound too terrific through a passive DI box.

Great price and does what it's meant to! Attached a short clip so you can hear the sound quality using it live. FYI it's a budget hartwood semi acoustic hallow body I'm using with strymon big sky reverb, strymon timeline and a ruby Amp model, It's compact and great for carrying incase your venues don't have them Clarity, well you tell me? Was compatible with my rig and the venues rig. Useful if you're gigging and touring a lot like me as I've came across some venues not having a DI and glad I had this

I think it helped but my OCD has me thinking it's not a perfect fix.

Bought to enable me to monitor guitar through amp whilst recording. More solidly built than I expected for the price. In my experience, Behringer gear is fine as long as brand snobbery doesn't get in the way. This DI box is quiet and physically robust enough for touring. Please note: many of the reviews posted here are for other products, mentioning batteries, dual inputs etc. I'm reviewing the D1400P, which does not generate noise and is not flimsy. Check what you're reading carefully.

I’m not very technical with some of these products used in recording set-ups. But what I can tell you is that it does exactly what it is meant to do!
