Review: Mass Market edition of a lovely deck - This is a lovely deck which largely follows the Petit Lenormand tradition. The artwork is beautiful: simple, yet attractive. The style is an interestingly modern take on old-fashioned, with dark sepia tones and Victorian-looking clothing and objects. There are plenty of roses in the cards as a wink to the title, which itself is a wink to the Roman phrase “sub rosa”, meaning “confidential”. The cards have pretty titles along the bottom and give the Lenormand numbering in a small circle in the top left hand corner, and an abbreviated playing card symbol in a square at the bottom right corner - covering all the interpretive bases most Lenormand readers use. The cardstock is of a nice quality, and the size is traditional Bridge size: 5.7cms by 8.9cms or 2.25 inches by 3.5 inches. There is a black border with roses and vines twining around the straight lines that delineate the images, and a graduated cream/brown border around the edges. The biggest change that has been made from traditional decks is that there are two Lady and two Gentleman cards, one each of European and African descent. However, both versions retain the original numbering. So, you can choose which card to include based on the ethnicity of your client or on personal preference. You can also use either two ladies or two gentlemen if reading for a same-sex couple. Or else leave all four cards in if there are a lot of people involved in the situation. There is also an alternate Child card, to balance the genders. The changes don’t end there, though. Some of the cards have also been renamed - the Tower becomes the Clock Tower while, the Heart becomes the Locket, a lovely way of treating this image. So, too, the Coffin becomes the Grave - in some ways a clearer, more striking depiction that fits better with modern sensibilities - and the Book becomes the Journal, which I think is my favourite change. It gives that sense of things being hidden, but also of study, really nicely. Finally, the Scythe becomes the Sickle: easier to handle, I guess. Nevertheless, the cards are fairly clear and easy to read: you can tell what each card is at a glance. There is a lot of charm and a touch of cute to these cards, with their slightly dark tones, yet sweet images. Altogether, this is a very pretty, accessible deck, which will appeal to established Lenormand readers as well as beginners. A very nice deck to add to a collection
These are very pretty cards. The colouring is a little subdued, but that is the style of the cards and they are quite easy to read if you have any experience of Lenormand cards. The information booklet with the cards is minimal, so unconfident readers may want to make sure that they also purchase a guide if they don't own one already. Very beautiful cards, with gentle, romantic imagery. I do like that it has alternative cards for the Lady, Gentleman and Child.

So accurate it's scary
Okay so first off. Let me start by saying I've only just started off with doing my card reading as my friend baught me an oracle set for Xmas and that was crazy accurate. So I baught this deck.. my first time. I asked about my relationships past present and future there's 3 for past 3 for present 3 for future ok... now this is where it gets scary. My ex cheated on me with another woman and married her. The 3 cards for my past was the man. Then a woman with a snake (which can according the the book be taken as the other woman. And then.... a ring. I'm sorry but yeah can't be more accurate hahahaha then said my present there's basically nothing going on. I'm not available at the moment etc ( I've had my mum pass away 6 months ago and stuff so I really am not emotionally available at the moment or had time to date etc) and future basically said I'd meet the rider which is a gentlemen who's mature and kind n all that. Here's hoping!

Elegant and accurate
When I first used these cards I could not connect with them at all and just couldn't seem to get an accurate reading. I now believe this is because I started off with the bigger spreads without first becoming more familiar with the key words. I asked three different questions today and pulled 3 cards for each question and received great accuracy. My first question was ' what can you tell me about my college application' I received the clover, bouquet and the stork card indicating good news on the way so we'll see! The images on the cards are a period vibe which is right up my street, though there is a modern aspect to them as they are not dowdy and are quite colourful in a subtle tasteful way. There is a lovely element of diversity which I was pleased to see and you are given the option of 3 alternate cards. My only gripe with this deck is that there are about ten cards in the deck in which the key words printed on them are quite hard to see even if you get really close. The garden card is practically impossible to read the key words, if any at all. I get why they are not bold but they are also no use if they can't be seen even on close inspection. You may want to order two of these as the card stock isn't flimsy as such but it isn't great either. Aside from that I am very fond of these cards and luckily ordered two by mistake so I have a backup in case one set gets ruined.

stunning
I had heard of Lenormand on and off and knew it was very different to tarot, so had never been keen. However the style of art and theme of this deck made me want to add it to my collection. It is very pretty, very user friendly, I can not fault the deck but I know I will need a companion book to learn more about Lenormand in general.

Love it. Am new to Lenormand and this deck ...
Love it. Am new to Lenormand and this deck has made me fall in love with this oracle system. The cards feel good, nice card. The vintage look is wild west cartoonish in a good way, it has sophistcated character. Have had some very generous and accurate readings from this deck. I appreciate the extra cards are culturally diverse.

Great cards. My first Lenormand deck, the little white book is very blunt and to the point with little direction, and a description of each card, however most information can be found online anyway. The cards seem to be the right size for the grand tableau spread (small enough to use all 36 cards). There are words in the background of each card of the meanings, they're very blended into the background where they're not distracting but helpful at times...however on probably half the cards, the words simply cannot be read, and others you can make out 1 or 2 words if at all...great idea, but not exactly well executed. This deck comes with an extra gentleman, lady, and child cards, which can be handy. The pictures are pretty, the man and woman face left/right (which is preferred by most readers), the clouds have an obvious dark and light side...these little details make this a great deck. I was somewhat disappointed in the delivery, it said between June 11-26, with no tracking, but I didn't receive until the 30th - received packaged well and unharmed so it really wasn't a big problem. And customer service replied promptly when I contacted them.
