LEGO Technic 8258 Crane Truck

A fun item to build and display, the power functions are well used, but shame they did not look at making it remote control like the excavator, there is sufficient space to fit it all in the chassis. Part of a nice large collection and well worth the price.

Fantastic, delivered within 48 hours..No damage to outside box, all parts there with a guide of instructions on how to build which took hours of fun..Recommended for adults that like lego and great as a display in your living room for people to see and comment..

I have to say that I am really, really impressed! I've had a few Technic sets from recent years, and this one is fantastic. The scale and detail of the truck is superb- the tipping cab to reveal the V8 motor is a really nice touch. The gearing is really well thought through, and the kit comes with the XL power functions motor, which means all of the motorised parts work incredibly smoothly. For instance, I also have the 8265 Digger, and the regular motor struggles a bit lifting the bucket under a load. My one slight criticism is that the crane arm doesn't fold very smoothly at it's extremes. Also, the crane itself is not massively strong, and tips slightly when lifting a larger load. Both of these are minor points though- you really won't be disappointed by this set- it's a good length of time to build too, took me about 6 hours (and I loved every minute!). Enjoy.

Simply the best lego set I have ever built. Very good fun, would recommend everyone who likes lego. This is a must have for your collection.

Got this truck as a gift from my fiancee (Amazon Germany). PROS: + Quality + 1877 pieces + Size + Great package (although mine arrived hit badly from the shipping) + 2in1 model CONS: - Crane operation is not that great - Price (for some) Conclusion: definitely worth buying! Good for its day, but cannot compare with the newer models like the 42009 (crane Mk II) or the 42030 fully remote controlled Volvo Front Wheel Loader. Beware of fantastic 5 star reviews as these were written when this set was launched in 2009. Scalpers are asking ridiculous prices for this. If you missed out on this, you would be well advised to spend your money on the newer sets or if you are looking for investment, then go for the older Lego Technic sets such as the Air Tech Claw Rig (8868) or the Back-hoe (8455). These two sets are future collectibles and still can be picked up for less than £100.

久しぶりにテクニックを購入しました。 見慣れぬ部品、4冊もある説明書、無数の袋、1877ピースにたじたじとなりましたがやはりレゴ、組立は的確、プロセスは簡便で素晴らしいの一言です。 完成すると全長55センチで、電池6本を搭載しているせいかかなり重たく感じます。ずっしりきます。 デザインも秀逸。ただ、一体化部品で面を出しているのでなんとも言いがたいですが・・。 一言二言言えばクレーン部分の操作はけっこうやっかいです。操作部分と逆転部分が反対側についているため操作しにくいです。 あと、何故か2番ブームの動きがかなり渋いです。動力はスムーズに来ているのですが・・。構造上の問題であればやっかいです。 クレーンが無いほうがもカッコよかったりします。 ただ、全体的に完成度は高いです。7時間かかった甲斐がありました。

Super Spassfaktor beim Zusammenbau des Fahrzeuges.Es ist wie immer ein genuss ,zu suchen,zu sortieren und dann zusammenzusetzen.Allerdings könnten die Bewegten Funktionen etwas umfangreicher gestaltet sein,denn wenn mann den Schwenkarm motorisch antreibt,warumm muss dann der seilzug von Hand betrieben werden.Auch wenn eine Beleuchtung am Fahrzeug zu montieren wäre,dann würde es das gesammtbild erheblich verbessern. Alles in allem jedoch ein wiedermal schönes gerät von LEGO,das sich zu Kaufen und zum Bauen lohnt.
