Do both units need a power source?

Yes, both antennas need a power source. The power supply is injected into the Cat5 going to each antenna so the power supply can be mounted anywhere inline usually near your router or switch.

Does it work for 3 miles distance ?

As far as i can tell this is simply two of the c058900c072a radios, which sell for $99 each. what exactly am i getting for the extra $150?

I am no computer expert; the sales rep at Cambium told me the bridge in a box is “plug and play” no networking experience required (which is good for me). The rep said you could buy the individual equipment cheaper but it would require set up and the purchase of the ac power transformers. Since I have no networking experience I wanted it simple and easy so I spent the extra money on the “kit”.
