We wanted to try the jug method for formula feeding and found this. It's the best way to make one big batch of formula in one go. We either spilt it into bottles ready to grab and go or keep it in the jug if we're staying home. Our little one takes bottles cold and it is much less stressful than preparing a bottle there and then. It mixes the formula really well and the lid turns to completely lock off the formula so it's sealed.

It's not until we had our second child that I read online about a "formula pitcher" that can be used to prepare a batch of formula and store it in the fridge, you then measure it out as needed and microwave for 20 seconds or so to warm it slightly. Up until buying this we'd been using a Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine, which is great for minimising the amount of time spent making bottles but it still takes a few minutes and ultimately doesn't remove a big problem for us which was introducing bubbles to the milk as a result of shaking the powder. This pitcher solves all the problems because you can make a batch of 36oz of formula at once, use the really handy in-built mixing mechanism and then store it safely in the fridge until you need it; the mixing action coupled with it being allowed to settle in the fridge means there's no frothy (wind-causing!) milk. Putting boiling formula straight into the fridge isn't a great idea of course so we make up a pitcher and sit it in a sink of cold water until it has cooled enough to go into the fridge.

When my (now 2 yr old) son was born, I tried but couldn't feed him. I also discovered he had a milk allergy. The Dr prescribed appropriate dairy-free milk for him. So I needed a mixing jug for his milk. I was given 2 Dr Brown's mixing pitcher/jugs as a gift & I have thrashed them. Now, 2 years later, I needed a new one as one had 'died'! I would recommend these jugs for mixing baby milk for several reasons... 1 - it takes boiling water without a problem. 2 - well marked for measuring liquids. 3 - the plunger mixes liquid with powdered milk in seconds without fuss. 4 - goes in the fridge for cold storage. 5 - goes through the dishwasher with ease. Thus jug is worth every penny!

My baby is exclusively breastfed and I wanted to start freezing some milk for emergencies/future bottle feeds etc. I got this pitcher so I could collect pumped milk over a 4 day period and then freeze it all. It works brilliantly! Holds enough as I obviously nurse mainly and then just pump for extra so I can use this for the full 4 days. And I love that you can gently mix all the milk together without needing to shake it (as this can break up fatty compounds that are beneficial to baby). It’s brilliant quality, pours smoothly and is very easy to clean. Would also be great if you use pumped milk straight from the fridge as can be easily poured into bottles.

Id like us your child is using anti reflux formula then you will know how difficult it is to mix/blend. This has been an absolute must buy for us and has not only saved us so much time, but mixes perfectly without lumps. Do not hesitate to buy! Future you will thank yourself!

Really good for batch making formula. I use this daily. The top is a little flimsy though but apart from that, no issues. I like that you don’t have to shake etc. as it has the mixer.
