Great product.
For very little money, this mains conditioner block offers great value, considering it provides surge protection for your hifi. No hum, buzz or any kind of interference that I can detect from the speakers on quiet or silent passages of music. It's well shielded and contrary to a review I've read,I've found the soundstage very good indeed within my system.

REVIEW: CS947 Tacima 6 Way Mains Conditioner with Surge Protection
Guys, I bought this, at the marked price, with some trepidation at first. Being a long-entrenched hi-fi / audio fundi, I'm well versed in the advantages of cleaning up the mains input into one's audio equipment, especially via (very costly!) add-on's from the likes of audio luminaries such as Russ Andrews, etc. Simply said, done well, this method of "mains conditioning" has truly dramatic effects in enhancing one's audio sound. This is well proven around the world. So, when I can across this relatively cheap Tacima 6-way mains conditioner, I was immediately interested -- especially at the price asked for -- to use with my secondary audio system which comprised computer storage of music files, tied to CD-burning facilities, acting as a source ( via 3,5mm to RCA cabling) to drive my secondary hi-fi. Long story short, I purchased this Tacima mains conditioner on a whim and, lo and behold, it really works so well! PLEASE NOTE HOWEVER: Like many (newly-installed) hi-fi/audio components, one needs to allow the new components time to "run in"/"bed in." This will not sit well with some sceptical folk, but, truly, one needs to do this -- in every such situation. In other words, install this Tacima mains conditioner properly (easy, just plug it in!) and, making sure that you separate each and every electrical cable from each other (separation is key!) that plugs into the Tacima, including the cable that feeds the Tacima unit, use it then for AT LEAST two weeks. Maybe even three. After that, you will be totally convinced and will be clearly able to hear the now-transformed sound of your system. It's that simple and dramatic. Very obvious improvement in sound. It even works in computer-audio systems by getting rid of all mains-derived noise. Which, by the by, in Britain, is major ... the electrical system in the UK is utterly shocking ('scuse the pun). So, my full blessing for this item. Buy with confidence!

Peace of mind.
I bought this because in our bedroom we have a DAB radio, the 12 volt power adapter decided to go bang. This caused our 50 inch TV to stop working and destroy the hdmi circuitry in the satellite box. So an expensive event. We also have a intermittent problem with power clicks from the boiler when the hot water is turned on and off, this causes dropouts on the TV and satellite. As this is a mains conditioner I decided to pay out for this instead of another TV or satellite box. Since its been installed we have had zero dropouts, it has a TV, satellite box, DAB radio, amplifier and Blu-ray player plugged in. I'm so impressed with it I've just bought a second one for our equipment in the living room as we recently had the 65 inch TV have a power supply failure, another expensive replacement. I now feel confident while watching TV in the living room as we have the same setup there with, obviously the same power spikes happening, even from the tumble dryer. We have no such problems now thanks to this excellent Mains Conditioner. Recommended.

I was sceptical as to whether this sort of product can really impact on sound quality, prior to buying this Tacima 6 way mains conditioner. After all, electricity gets to our homes travelling hundreds, if not thousands of miles via thick copper , underground, over ground and it would be daft to assume 2mtrs could make any difference. I needed a 'bank of sockets' so getting one was essential to tidy my cables up. Essentially for my Media Centre pc which stores all my music on and my amplifiers though I did need extra sockets for a usb power bank, a table lamp and the television. Some companies make these type of sockets for the audiophile myth and as far as I am concerned they are ridiculously priced , even if I had that sort of money I couldn't be naive enough to lend my logic to that sort of nonsense. A basic decent quaity 'socket extension' would have cost me ยฃ20.00 so I made the decision to try one of these. I can't say I noticed a dramatic improvement in sound at all, though I did sense the sound did seem slightly more controlled, tidy, perhaps that could be the old grey matter playing tricks, I don't know. It certainly has tidied the mess of cables up. It's well made, chunky and substantial and does go some way to adding that be of reassurance. I can see why its more expensive that standard banks, it feels much sturdier. I like the visual alert of when its powered on too, the cable is thick. On a final note there's also one more thing for absolute certainty, it hasn't degraded the sound in any way. All in all a resounding recommendation. A sensible practical product at a realistic price.

Good quality mains conditioner to protect delicate electronic components.
I have previously purchased this mains conditioner for use on my hi-fi and it made a significant difference removing interference from other appliances, so I'm happy it does work. I purchased again for my TV/Video for surge/spike protection, I haven't installed it yet, so I don't know if it will improve TV picture quality, hopefully it will.

Wish I understood the science
I'm really not sure why but this has made a positive difference to my hifi, and i wish a) i understood why and b) I could describe it in a way that doesnt make even me as a semi-audiophile want to punch myself. I was of the opinion that certain upgrades made a difference to sound quality; you change your amp, or your speakers, or analogue cables and it will change the sound. But I also believed that certain things; dumb cd transports with no decoding, digital cables and power sources made no difference - how could they ?? Due to circumstance - my cd player dying, it being easier to use co-ax cable with a new cd player than optical for the digial out, and needing to use my old surge protector power supply with my work PCs - I have recently replaced these three components. These shouldnt make difference. AND YET. Let's park the cd transport and cabling and just think about the power supply. In this test only the amp is plugged into the new power supply. When you get a "nice" hifi people ask: Is it loud, how loud does it go, or they ask: has it got lots of bass. Forgive the audiophileyness here but when you "get into" hifi you go beyond volume and bass. For me I want a room filling sound (around and between the speakers), the vocalist in the middle sounding natural, the intruments around them. Volume? Any modern amp in an ordinary room is going to deafen you. Bass, of course but controlled and detailed. People listening to single speaker bluetooth systems are really missing out even if it goes loud and is bassy. Listening to the amp with this new power supply just seems to allow more of the music, more of the performance to come out. It is tough to explain. Ive gone back to tracks ive been listening to for 25 years, well worn and tested. I can find myself turning up the volume and there is no excess brightness or unpleasantness in the sound, it just sounds "bigger". Probably there's people shaking their head and thinking it;s all snake oil and that's fine. But I know what im hearing. I listened to the same tracks back to back, old plugs, this new plug. Same tracks again, there is a clear improvement to all aspects of the sound. Maybe my power supply was particularly "dirty", not that I understand how that can make any difference to be honest. Do Word documents become clearer if you plug your laptop into the power supply? I know, it's mad. But the improvement is there in the sound. Look, it's almost the same price as a decent surge protector adapter, if you're in the market for a 6 way adapter and you have a semi-decent hifi then get this. And then you can go mad like me trying to rationalise the difference.

Wow!
Hmm, interesting one thisโฆ I have a DAC & Headphone Tube Amp stack next to my recliner which I use for hours at a time a day, to stream music from my IPhone to various headphones and IEMโs. I think itโs pretty safe to say that I spend far too much time listening to music. But itโs by far my favourite thing to do. Well, apart from one other thing which will remain nameless! Anywayโฆ [coughs]โฆ Iโve always been very sceptical of various โaudiophileโ snake-oil. Most especially power supply mods and, that cable quality can noticeably or effectively effect audio quality. However, I was getting v confused by certain things that were happening with my headphone stack. Firstly, at times I was intermittently getting electrical interference noise floor and ground loop hum in my system. Secondly, it felt like on some days the audio quality on my system was brilliant but on other days it was unsatisfying and below par. Tired ears? Different moods? Tired? Happy? Sad? Good day? Bad day? Time of day? Was it meโฆ, was I making the audio quality discrepancies up?! I did some research. Came across various references to audio quality being changed by whether the electrical supply to your equipment was a โcleanโ supply or not, AND that power supply to your home can jump between clean and dirty, dependent on all sorts of factors some determined directly by your electrical supplier - levels of demand, the supply station the electric is being sent from, whether you co-habit in a block, what your neighbours are doing with their electricity etc etc.., Hence why many audiophiles employ Linear Power Supplies which clean and condition the DC power to their amps and Dacs. No point in spending hundreds or even thousands on a linear power supply for my little headphone stack, so went for this fourway as an affordable option. EXCELLENT RESULTS!!! My system now sounds amazing every single time I switch it on, with a completely black and silent noise floor. Itโs even increased the width of the headstage/soundstage if you can believe it?! Not sure how, but with this power conditioner in place the entire musical presentation is noticeably more spacious. Upper mids and highs are far more sparkly and thereโs increased note weight across the board. Finally, itโs given me far more GAIN on my amp. Previous to using my amp volume nob would be pushed to 3 oโclock if I wanted max impact on a fave track. Now I never have to go above 12 noon. Iโm flabbergasted by the improvement this thing has made to the audio quality of my equipment. I take it all back. Iโm now a believer!!!

Does the job it was intended for
Of all the electrical goods I own my hifi equipment is by far my most important to me and having it all surge protected is a must especially as several times in the past I have witnessed other people suffer from equipment failure because they didn't have or believe in surge protection . Having recently moved my equipment to another part of the room the leads on them didn't reach the existing surge protection system so I looked at one expressly for my hifi and eventually came across this particular one, now I must explain that the "claims" of cleaning the electricity input via this I took with the proverbial pinch of salt (still do) I'm not a follower of the " hifi snake oil" community and rather, I purchased it on price being similar to the cost of my existing one ... in retrospect DOES it make a "sonic " difference? Well, I'm still enjoying listening to music so sort of yes because I don't worry about my enjoyment being ruined by a spike or surge damaging my equipment, build quality as it stands is about as good as you could expect from something that has to comply with the current electricity safety regulations and as all these things should do it runs silently, lastly the mains lead is quite generous and allows me to tuck the unit discreetly away a top buy just for the peace of mind it gives.
