Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted (Bible Study Book)

I actually really like this Bible study book a lot. I have done many Bible studies/small groups over the years and have used many workbooks. I love that this one has a plan for 5 days through the week to work on before you meet back up with your group — 2 reasons, it gives me a plan to work on like a daily devotional and it’s not a full 7 days to where I if I have to miss a day I can. I also love that it comes with the video…often a group can get lead off topic, but having Priscilla’s video each week means that she helps facilitate and we stay on topic.

Good study on the book of Jonah. Priscilla Shirer’s videos are great, not a big fan of the workbook.

Our ladies Sunday School class has just finished this study. When we were looking for our next study, my niece mentioned she was doing this one in a Wednesday night group 300 miles away, so I checked it out and thought it looked appropriate for our mostly over 50 group. We were not disappointed! I know it is intended for 6 weeks but we took 12 weeks, mainly due to a 45 minute meeting time and also interruptions with summer vacations etc. But that said, we thought it was a great study. We would seriously consider another study by this author.

Exactly what I was expecting, love it!! Pricilla Shier always delivers an excellent Bible study.

I am disappointed with the appearance of the book. I understand wear and tear is common with paperback books- I'd prefer that to happen overtime, instead of receiving it in a worn condition.

I used this Bible Study guide to lead a Women's group ministry at my church. First of all, Priscilla Shirer is a captivating speaker. The videos are around 30 minutes each and she really keeps your attention with personal examples from her own experiences. The included video access is a great feature for those who miss a group session or just want to rewatch the video. The suggested outline for leaders was very helpful and practical. Everyone in our small group study really benefited from the lessons drawn out from the book of Jonah and the personal study throughout each week. It was not overwhelming and easy to understand. I highly recommend this study for individuals or as a group study.

This was such a great study. The actual story of Jonah isn’t super long so I loved how this study really helped me understand everything better. It’s written so well and the videos are such a great pairing. (But doing it without the video is still worth it) I love how Priscilla speaks to you like you are right there with you, she is so engaging and warm.

I have really enjoyed the Bible study .I never thought I would be interested in learning about Jonah but I look forward to the study daily. It brings the story in a live and fresh way and I am able to apply the study to my daily life.
