Throws Plenty of Sparks.
I read a review that this 6” 13amp grinder stalls…..? I did not try a 7 or 8” disc as it will accept either but it is a 6” grinder. I choose it because a have (4) 4-1/2” DeWalt grinders that were too cheap to not buy, six seven, I mean $69.00ea., that replaced 2 (4-1/2”) German Grinders that surprisingly for what was spent, went up in smoke, miserably within 6 months of the same use the 2 of the 4 Dewalts have already endured and are still turning stone and flap discs. This 6” is everything it needs to be. The rotation lock could be a little tough to engage but it does not lack power if using a 6” stone. It is lite and easy to handle. An 8” can do more but you’ll be sweating to keep ahead and thats another reason why you should never volunteer to be a welder! Good product as Black & Decker or Yellow & Stanley & DeWalt, or just DeWalt rather, for those who do not know the Stanley, Black & Decker branding’s kinda know what they’re doing.

New refinements on a familiar tool
Professional user, with lots of grinder experience. Saw this new grinder in the DeWalt booth at the Fabtech Expo 11/16 and had been anxiously awaiting release. In my shop we use a lot of the D28065 grinders (own about 20 of them) so being essentially an updated replacement to that grinder, I will be comparing this to it. Initial impressions: Looks nice Feels solid Like the new trigger safety. After a bit of use: Not quite as powerful as the D28065 6" grinder, but can't be stalled easily. Just bogs slightly easier than the older grinder. A little smoother. Feels like this grinder has a 'soft start' where the RPM builds for a couple seconds after pulling the trigger. Initially thought it was a lag/defect, but it seems to just be a new characteristic. Don't love or hate this aspect. Starts the wheel up with less feedback torque which is nice, but something about it just feels strange. Really like the tool-free guard adjustment and removal they added. Overall: Like it, but not completely sold on it, hence the 4 stars. If these last longer than the old ones, great. I'd probably eventually keep buying these to phase out the old tools, if not then I'll probably keep using my tried and true(and cheaper!) older D28065(and D28115) grinders.

Do not recommend
Well second time using it. It’s over heating and just stops working. Waited 30 minutes it got hot again and stopped.

Powerful yet small and lightweight. No more 7 inch grinders for me

Great grinder, light, powerful, I like the quick latch on the safety guard that makes it easy to rotate for your work. Has a trigger lock for when you have a lot to grind. The screw on handle is kind of cheap, and it should come with a longer grounded (3 prong) cord.

I’ve bought 4 grinders from this customer & 2 of them stopped working. 1 had electrical issues within 30 mins of use. I returned it over a month ago & still haven’t received my money. 3 days later, the second one crapped out…where’s my refund??

Will do the job nicely

Good enough grinder, the soft start takes a little getting used to. My big complaint is that the cord is even shorter than they used to be! About 18” shorter! They were already too short. I have to think hard about ordering another... that’s a biggie to me.
