Very good aquarium filter.
Initially, I bought Eheim Pick Up 160 and used in an 87l Interpet fish tank. It broke after 2 years. Just stopped working. I had to buy a new filter ASAP. This time I chose Eheim Pick Up 200. It is very similar to the previous one but taller. I have had it for less than a month and it works fine so far. With the 200 the water looks more clear than with the 160. I suggest you get the biggest filter you can fit in your fish tank. I like how well it airates the water while being very quiet. It's quite simple inside. Just a large sponge. No charcoal or other media. Though, it's easy to add whatever other media you want. The sponge works just fine. When it gets dirty I gently wash it in the aquarium water I'm going to discard during a water change. It's important not to wash the sponge too much or with running water. It has good bacteria living on it which is needed to keep the water safe for the fish. Happy aquariuming! 😊

Easy to use and maintain.
An excellent simple filter. I have two filters in a 240 litre Juwel tank, one filter each end of the tank. I’ve been running them for two weeks and they’re keeping the tank reasonably clear, this week i opened the filter outlets fully to improve efficiency. I run a third filter (Aquael Turbo 1000) for the biological media (Eheim Substrate Pro) using the media container supplied with the Aquael filter. This combination seems to work quite nicely, the water is clear, the fish seem happy (although I’ve been unable thus far to ask them for an opinion). The Eheim 200 pickup filter is really easy to use and clean equally suitable for a novice or an experienced fish keeper. I’m really happy with this choice of filter, i used to run an external filter but became wary of external filters after experiencing a couple of leaks, quality and simplicity is best. Edit 16/04/25, both filters working well, I’m considering putting some Eheim Substrat Pro in the bottom of these filters (there is about 2 inches of usable space) I’ll cut the sponge down by 2 inches to accommodate the media.

Great
Great filter im using it in a 64liter as i have many fish most of those being corydoras as they have bred like crazy lol the waterfall type hang on filter i was using before wasn't doing the job it was spossed to so this one seemed a good replacement with the extra water flow and bubble feature i don't use the bubble bit tho because its in my bedroom and would be far to loud to sleep with, it is a bit noisy but i am still able to get a good nights sleep iv had it running 2 days now and im not a zombie xD overall i would recommend it.

Simplicate don't complicate.
I see this filter gets mixed reviews. I am giving it a massive thumbs up. I went back to keeping tropical fish after ten years of not doing so due to house moves etc. It's interesting to see how a hobby changes. Internal filters used to be a powerhead with an impeller and a filter sponge. Nowadays the influence of external filters is evident in all current designs with several sponges and biological media, carbon elements and cartridges and different compartments for everything. The current Fluval models epitomise this but anything by Interpret and the rest are pretty well the same. This slavish imitation of external filter systems is I am sure very useful for enthusiasts keeping specialised fish but for the rest of us with a pleco and some neon tetras it is just unnecessary complication. Somewhere along the road the fact that a sponge can perform both mechanical and biological filtration seems to have been forgotten. Well guess what a sponge can do both quite adequately as the supreme water quality in my tank bears testament. I read theses blurbs for modern internal filters saying you need two or more separate sponges in a filter so you can clean them alternately and not jeopardise the bacteria in your tank. Yes true up to a point but when you rinse out your sponge to clean it ,the filter and the substrate and the rocks and the rest of the tank is still going to be coated in the same bacteria which will rapidly recolonise the sponge so there is a distinct element of marketing buzz about multiple sponge set ups. The other great thing about the Eheim Pick up models is that they push the water through from the bottom unlike all other filters including more recent Eheim designs which pull the water through from a motor in the top. This does look a bit mad on paper but it works fine and it means you can flip the lid off it and pull out the sponge and clean it in about five minutes as opposed to taking the whole filter out of the tank and dismantling it then getting the sponge out then putting it back together then back into the tank. My only caveat about the Pickup range would be the continued availability of replacement sponges. The Pickup is an older design which still features on the Eheim website and replacement sponges can be easily bought. However I notice that the Powerline which is another older design still features on the website and is still on sale if you look hard enough on the internet but I cannot find refill sponges for either Poweline model anywhere and I am slightly concerned the same fate might befall the Pickup range. Fluval has always had a better sales and marketing set up than Eheim in the UK anyway as long as I can remember but when you buy stuff for your tank you are not buying the sales and marketing operation you are buying the product and generally Eheim's products are superior.

Eheim 200 Filter - Awesome
Simple and absolutely brilliant; no expensive monthly filter packs needed, supplied with one sponge which is all that is needed (you can buy replacement sponges pretty cheap but they won't need to be replaced very often - circa 18 months?); powerful flow of water; you can introduce air bubbles via the venturi tube; highly rated filter; bought the 160 model for my smaller tank and absolutely had to go back for the 200 model for my larger tank; definitely recommend

Eheim Pickup 200 filter DO NOT PICK IT UP it is useless
I purchased this to create extra flow in large JUWEL aquarium . The filter sponge was way to fine and blocked solid in just over a week washed and refitted it lasted 3 days . The Eheim sponges are very expensive . I tried some cheaper Amazon equivalent sponges which lasted the same as the originals . The filter is now residing in the bin. It is quite expensive and useless. I have had aquariums for over 40 years this is the worst filter ever purchased a giant expensive rip off.

The power & capabilities is 100
Such a great name and I know why. Not a fan of internal filters as they heat the water but this thing, 💯💯💯 flow is adjustable in speed & direction. Filter quality is unbelievable, keeping the water clean as heck. Performs so well. It’s easy to install and clean. Cheap to operate/run. Almost no noise. Not to big & I’ll never throw it away despite now being predominantly on canister filtration. Highly rec
