Sculpey Oven Bake Polymer Clay 30 Piece Sampler 1oz Bars Set

This is a very nice selection to start with if you are either new to polymer clay or like me, wanting to try out a new brand of clay before investing a lot of money buying individual colours. It's important to note that these are half-size blocks of 2oz not the full-size versions but don't let this put you off as there is more than enough to make quite a few small to medium sized projects. The pack contains a good range of colours and includes some accent clays in metallic, pearl and translucent. So far I have found it a delight to work with as it's easy to condition, has a nice consistency and holds its shape well during baking. The colours are clear and vibrant, not muddy like some other brands I've worked with. In fact my only complaint is that the colours and their codes are not clearly marked on the well-wrapped individual packages. They are listed in order by row on the reverse of the box but really you need to do what I've done and clearly label each one to avoid confusion and to make it easier when you come to buy replacement blocks. There are codes printed on the wrappers but I can only assume they are batch numbers as they didn't match the box. To sum up; this is a lovely clay to work with and suitable for all levels of experience. I will definitely be buying more of it in the future.

This is such a nice item - has a very good assortment of colours to sample - it did not get to me as fast as hoped - but then I did not realise at the time that it was ordered from the USA! So in reality it would not have arrived as fast as anything bought in the UK anyway. But all in all this is worth every penny - very good buy.

Flawless kit my first one lasted about a year and still going I love this kit and found this clay so soft it needs basically no conditioning although it can be weak if in thin pieces the baking time is less then 10mins and this includes a great amount of colours, my favourite is the glitter gold which is hard to find on its own !

Avoid at all cost! Do not buy! I make clay earrings and all this clay did was become very brittle and brake. This product is not what was described. Very disappointed. I am a small business owner and I cannot afford to lose money on this! I want all my money back!!

Okay so the actual contents of the product were good. It's sculpey, so if you know the product then it's as it is. The irritating thing about this product is that it's a sample box. I bought this with the intention of beginning a much larger project for which I will need many of the colours in this set but in larger quantities. To get the exact colours I wanted I bought this SAMPLE box so I could choose the ones I wanted. There is a guide with the names and numbers of the colours on the back of the box but then no labels or defining features on the corresponding colour blocks, making this incredibly difficult to figure out which ones I want to order more of. Some of the colours were easy and obvious e.g. White and Black. But then you had colours such as Lemonade and Sweet Potato. How can I tell the difference between Bright Orange and Sweet Potato when they don't have labels on them? And what even is the colour of Lemonade?? Anyway I was lucky enough to find a Sculpey catalogue online which had a colour chart to tell me which ones were which so that was fine in the end. But seriously, who makes a sample box and doesn't think about actually labelling the things they're sampling??? I'm aware this is an issue for the manufacturer rather than the vendor. In conclusion, this is a great thing if you're doing a small project or you want to play with lots of colours. But if you're intending to do a bigger project, just go find the (free) catalogue and order the colours direct!

I love useing sculpey clay,i prefer this brand to fimo, find fimo very hard and not that easy to work with.Altho the blocks are quite small it goes a long way.Theres a good variation of colours and shades includeing some glittery shades which are my favourites. Iv used this brand for years now for one project or another. Altho its starter pack it can go a long way which is great. My only issue with this product is if you run out of a colour its near impossible to find it in larger blocks as theres no colour chart to look it up. It bakes great! In about 10-15 minutes depending in the size of project. You can make shapes up to use for the next day without it drying out unlike other brands. I use it to make plaques and figurines. Its easy to mould and shape you can get the occassional bubbles but thats only if you over knead the clay. Over all i would highly recommend this clay. I will continue to buy it, well when its in stock again

Nice colour selection however be aware that it is incredibly soft. Softer than fimo soft clay even. It also is fairly brittle after baking. I have found it works better for thicker pieces and sculptures than it does for making charms and jewellery items. I would recommend this more for children and play rather than crafting. It is a decent value though for the amount of clay, and fun to experiment with.

This has been a wonderful craft venture for my 10 year old son, bought with a book for about how to model clay animals. So many vibrant colours to choose from and no mess. My son has used this over and over to make models from, it has been hugely inspiring for him and has lasted a long time. Would definitely buy again.
