A good quality scraper

The scraper blade is sharp and durable and great for scraping even tough painted surfaces. The handle fixture, however, is less durable as the steel butt end comes loose after a short period of time and will need gluing down. Good product overall but build quality could be better.

So useful when decorating. Reinstated top edge to old skirting and just just generally helpful for scraping things. Staying good and sharp. Wish I had discovered this tool years ago!

Brilliant

Well made. Care needed, very effective when used with proper hard to get paint stripper. But need to be gentle not to score the wood underneath.

A very professional tool for taking paint off. I am stripping an old wooden chair and this is far above using the hot air gun or paint stripper. Possibly the fact that the paint is so old and brittle helps - this chair has always been in my life and wouldn't have been new when my parents had it. The angles of the blade are brilliant for all the intricate carved bits but it is so sharp I am taking my time so that I don't slip with a corner of the blade and score the wood. There is a concave side to the blade which is fantastic for the round legs. I carefully clean the blade when I have finished a section and put the blade protector back on. If I need another scraper - I won't hesitate to buy another of these as it is such good value.

Reviewed Nov 2022: Bought this simply because it was on a daily special, and I wanted another scraper. When it arrived, it was in clear plastic packaging, but with no branding on the packaging nor the scraper itself. Not important to me, but if I'd payed the RRP, I'd be wondering what I paid for vs a no band item what was probably the same. I've used it for digging out some cracks in plasterboard joints before filling them to make them good. (2 lessons, 1: hire a professional snagging company 2: don't buy a house from Abby Mills Builders). Its pretty robust, no signs of the scraper part coming loose, the handle coming off or anything, but I'm using it as a DIY'er not as a professional. One thing to mention, the wooden handle is OK but its not something I'd want to use for hours at a time. I've another 'no brand' scraper with a rubbery/plastic handle, and its more comfy to use. I'd think that after prolonged use of this item, I'd feel it. Overall, great value for the price I paid. But I'd not buy again, I think there are better ones out there, even if I'm a bit of a Stanley 'tool tart' at heart.
