I have had a positive experience with the AccuSharp ShearSharp Scissors Sharpener. It works well for general-purpose scissors, hedge clippers, and tin snips. Holding it at the correct angle is crucial for achieving a smoother edge. While it struggles with gaffer tape, it performs admirably on other materials. Replacement blades aren’t available, but the reversible sides extend its lifespan. It’s interesting how technology has advanced in other areas, yet perfect scissor and knife sharpening at an affordable price remains a challenge

fantastic for sharpening scissors

This Accusharp for shear/scissors is excellent (so far), no complaints it has sharpend my kitchen scissors, office scissors and my gardening shears, and they all cut as if they were new, all it took was four or five stokes towards yourself and hey presto there done, If you look on You Tube or follow this link [...] it will show you how easy it is to use. Personally I do not think that these sharpeners are expensive at £9.70, as long as they last for a couple more sharpenings and that would mean it only costs £1.10 (a little bit less) per item to sharpen, thats value for money. Note that they are light but do not feel flimsy,

The instructions on the packet are not very clear. The the sharpening tungsten is flat and does not have a guide for the scissors etc..The video in the description is more clear if you can stand the lady being over the top with the sales patter.

I bought this as I have their knife sharpener, which is excellent. It seems to have done a good job on my kitchen scissors, I have yet to try it on secateurs and loppers but quite confident it will work.

There is only that much energy I have to spend on fighting with merchants such as these, who benefit from overcharging you on non-refundable postage, because they must know that their product will be returned (for the shipment of which, at 1/3 the cost of what they charge you, they don't reimburse). This is an inferior product, it is entirely unclear how to hold - the instructions are useless - and when you finally figure out how, more or less, to hold it, it turns out it has absolutely zero effect on your scissors. Stay away!

This little tool has worked wonders on sharpening my scissors. I didn't think this would be possible , especially on my very old scissors. I was very much surprised and pleased.. They are better than new! I have spent so much on scissors in the past I figured I would give this a try. Much to my surprise, I am SURPRISED! and for the price it is well worth the investment.

I'm also a retired Hairdresser/Gardener & both sharpeners are perfect for specfic sharpening needs without having to send your implements out for costly sharpening. (I had my Hairdressing Scissors sharpened by a professional & they came back worse than ever, so decided to try the Scissor Sharpener as well to fix my Scissor's & it did a great job.)
