It has 28 card slots & is smaller than the size of say a birthday card you send to people

wondering how deep it it is with the cards in it?

If you are asking about the thickness once filled there is very little difference, perhaps the added thickness of a credit card. The layout is very well done and its absolutely thin once filled. I love mine, have no problems at all and would certainly recommend it to anyone.
