Coleman Tent Coastline

I was wary when I went to purchase this tent because I had bought my last one only last year on reading reviews and it did not come up to scratch. I need not have worried at all. This is a marvellous tent and does exactly what it says on the tin. It was pretty easy to put up even for the first time and, as one reviewer put it, no matter how you fold it, it does go back into the bag without too much hassle. It was fully tested on my first camp as we had glorious sunshine for the most part but I did have a couple of days where it poured down with rain. Here I will say that you need to ensure your door zips are really tightly closed ass the water will drip through. I had to open and re-close mine on both sides to stop this, but that is a minor thing. Whilst this tent was not as high as my last one, and I had to bend slightly in order to walk through in it, it did serve me well and the seating area is certainly large enough to accommodate a large table and chairs plus my cooking stuff. The bedroom is a genuine three berth but, as there was only me, I had oceans of room. I took a week's worth of gear plus fishing equipment and food etc. and I still had room enough to move around without hitting anything. It is of a packed size that makes it even good for backpacking. I was amazed at how small it did fold up to. I actually packed the tent without taking the bedroom off or the groundsheet up, but that is your choice. My one disappointment, and it is with Coleman, is that I could not find a footprint to go with this tent. It would be so useful. I had to use all sorts of things in the end as I had forgotten to take the polythene I normally take when going camping. I do wild camping In Scotland, which I believe is not allowed elsewhere, so the terrain is what you find it. I will be contacting Coleman to find out if they are going to make a footprint. This is a nitpick, though. The tent itself kept me snug and dry and the front porch area is a really great idea. As one person said, the poles are not the best, but they did hold together. Also, to my surprise, the tent pegs provided actually did the job. Normally, the first thing I get rid of is the manufacturer's tent pegs as they are useless, but the ones in the pack from Coleman proved more than adequate. I can recommend this tent to anyone, be they individuals or a small family. It s suitable for any type of camping, be it car, bike, bicycle or backpacking, and I am looking forward to using it for many years to come.

I have now used this tent on two camping holidays one for 3 nights and then one for 6 nights and it really is great. It is really spacious inside so even with a double airbed inside there is still room on each side for a small suitcase or rucksack. The front section is brilliant for in the evenings when it gets a bit cooler or dark you can still sit on chairs inside and plenty of space for camping boxes etc. The front door also makes a great little shaded are for when the sun is too hot. The side doors are excellent for airing out the tent and getting in and out in the morning without getting wet with the moisture collected on outside of the tent overnight. During first outing with this tent we had some horrible weather with ongoing very heavy rain, thunder and wind and the tent did really well, it stayed completely dry on the inside sleeping compartment and most of the outside section. There was a small drip from the two tags which are used when you roll up the front door (or for hanging a torch off inside). These seemed to become saturated and did start to drip in the morning, although after a very heavy night's rain and such a small drip I wasn't concerned and this definitely wouldn't put me off the tent. I think it did really well in the weather. The tent is very easy to put up and take down and can be done by one person although easier with 2. The inside compartment can also be left inside when taking it down. My only very small little niggle is the 2 poles you get for putting up the front door to the front of the tent, each pole is made up of 3 parts and they do work well, however, they are really loose and don't have a click function or anything so when just holding them they fall apart. They do work when standing with the tent and you just peg the string down and as I said this is a very small niggle! This is a great tent, a bargain at the price on amazon! Fully recommend!

This tent is very good. After going round the world in a much smaller tent, we splashed out on this one and took it on a camping holiday to France in June 2016 and since for a weekend in North Yorkshire. Unfortunately, it rained a lot whilst we were in France. But this made us appreciate all the more, the 'veranda' bit. We comfortably fit 2 camping chairs, supplies, a camping table and a cooking stove inside this bit of the tent, and spent time reading with food and cups of tea whilst taking shelter from the rain (see 1/2 photos) Other design features we like include: The way the sleeping quarter is separated - though connected - to the outer tent layer. The bucket design of the floor-sheet in the 'veranda' bit. The see-through margins on the outer front-door of the tent. This makes it easy to check the weather status from shelter – especially if it keeps raining intermittently. This has unexpected practical uses when it rains all day and there’s nowhere else to go (other than the toilets)… The little gap between the sleeping quarter and the floor-sheet for the 'veranda' bit (a good place to put muddy shoes - sheltered from the rain but not muddying everything else) The front flap which holds open so you can enjoy a (hopefully) good view whilst sat under shelter (see 2/2 photos) In terms of putting the tent up, that's been fairly easy (depending on the state of the ground beneath as with any tent/camping expeience). It’s pretty much just like putting any other tent up. On the inside, once you have connected the inner sleeping quarters, I'd suggest leaving that attached (yes, the tent will still fold away just as well). The rest is fairly straight forward. Inside the tent itself, there's lots of bits to hang things off and pockets big enough to house things like toiletry bags etc. There's only 2 things that let this tent down. If it weren't for these 2 things, we'd give it 5 stars... 1. When it was pissing it down in the Dordogne in June, the side-door zips started leaking water into the 'veranda' bit (despite the bit of waterproof(?) fabric covering the zips). It seems (?) that somehow this led to the bit of fabric above the side-doors then also starting to leak. This bit got very wet, and drops of water started coming through. So we had to put a cooking pot underneath to collect the drops. PLEASE NOTE - This was the only part of the tent that leaked. This issue only happened under heavy rain and has never during or since affected the sleeping quarters or any other part of the tent! As such, it is not indicative of a problem with the whole tent, just the side-door zips, the fabric just above them, and perhaps only with our particular model. 2. The tent's fabric seems to hold onto a noticeable amount of water all around the outside. Once in Normandy and again since in North Yorkshire, when it came time to pack up the tent, I had to go round the outside of the tent with a camping towel, wiping water off the tent fabric. I don't know if it's an issue with the coating on the fabric, but even where the fabric is at an angle, enough water to noticeably wet a towel sticks around such that you either have to leave the tent up to dry or dry it yourself. It's not a big deal for us, but if you'd rather not pack your tent with more water than necessary, then this might be worth considering. In Summary... The Good: 1. User friendly (easy to put up and down) 2. Versatile to suit conditions (you can comfortably enjoy good views from the comfort of the tent whatever the weather) 3. Spacious 4. Good airflow throughout 5. Tent lines are a fluorescent green/yellow colour which makes them hard to miss! The Not So Good: 1. The side-door zips leak under heavy rain (at least our model did). 2. The tent fabric seems to hold onto more water that seems normal which can make it a mess to pack away. Overall, despite a couple of niggling issues, this is still a good tent at a good price. Spacious for 2 and designed for a pleasant experience. Would we buy it again if we knew the minor issues I've mentioned? Yes, definitely. The good definitely outweighs the not so good. Update: After a few years of using this brilliant tent, we finally found out its limit. We were hit by a storm whilst camping in Wales in 2020, & had to abandon ship & shelter in the car. Not long after, under the constant pressure of 60+ kmph winds, one of the central spines of the tent splintered and snapped. We quickly packed up the tent in gale force 8 winds, and will replace the spine pole and continue to enjoy this otherwise brilliant tent. But if you want to know it's limits in windy conditions, then there you have it. Avoid anything above 40kmph, and pack up immediately if it gets above 50kmph!

I needed to get a larger tent as my child is now the size of an adult! We tested it this weekend and there was plenty of room for three - normally when you buy a tent, if it says three man , its really only suitable for two and so on. BUT this tent is actually big enough for three. I am experienced camper so I found this easy to put up on my own, but if you have not camped before an extra pair of hands would be good (the instructions are in the bag and you can watch a tutorial on you tube). I did not rain but the tent has a hydrostatic head of 3000mm which gives me confidence (my old tent had this rating and got me through some pretty awful weather). When I put it back in the bag, i left the bedroom and ground sheet attached and it all went back in the bag easily (if you are not experienced camper there are videos on you tube about how to pack away a tent - this might sound silly but worth watching). The porch area has a ground sheet - this is great for storing gear. If it rained it would not be too bad hunkering down in there as a group of three. The porch has three doors so you not be clambering over each other to dash to the loo. Overall this is an excellent tent at a good price that will see you through many camping trips in the glorious brittish weather

First of all, I have read in another review that this tent was frustrating to put up......REALLY??!! This tent is incredibly easy to put up and took me about 10 minutes to erect fully. To get the outer shell is about 6 minutes with then just pegging the inner room and further goundsheet in. I have always been a fan of sewn in groundsheets to tents but this has changed my mind. Its so much easier to clean the tent bit by bit as all the tent can be seperated into three. Tent size is decent, I wanted a smaller tent from my 9 man "lads" tent to go walking and camping with but only for 2 people to sleep, cook, dress and admin ourselves in. I took this tent to Download 2012 and had three of us in it. Im 6'4" tall, my brother is 6'7" tall and my mate is 6' tall. With roll mats down we all fit in the sleeping area fairly snuggly. It does fit three people but is also a very very spacious 2 man tent (obvious statement know!) and all your kit will easily fit in the sleeping area too. Very good, very waterproof, very cheap for the price and very roomy. For a three man tent it has more room than the Vango Beta 350 (though im a huge fan of Vango tents) and is better qaulity than your cheap big argos tents. For the tent novice, NEVR BUY A TENT UNDER 2000 HH. If it rains, your gonna get wet!!! Update as of May 2018. This tent is Stu.going strong after 8 festivals and numerous other camping trips. For it's size it's the best tent out there. Update September 2020. Still got this tent and after 8 years its still going strong!

Great tent. I have used it for 3 years now. Inner room kept out all midges on first trip, though mosquitos will slip in at dusk if it is left open - always using the zip for a minute pays off. First main holiday was a week in the Lake District when many were cancelling. The Eskdale site was flooded when we arrived. Given a dryish spot next to a stone wall and had no leaks. Porch ground sheet kept food dry despite finding a big puddle underneath when we packed up. Opening doors from top not bottom prevented run off into tent during heavy downpours.Took worst of water off tent with microfibre cloths and only slightly damp when we got home. three of us on that trip were comfortable. Another time shared with teenage daughter and two small dogs in Atlantic winds on Irish beach site. Very sturdy. Any condensation disappears if ventilated during breakfast. Inner room is noticabley warmer than outdoors in the morning. Not counting guy ropes, takes up same volume of space as my Clio Mark III car - roomy enough for two chairs and a camping table in the porch and careful cooking (though instructions say no cooking for fire), but don't expect to stand up straight in it. Dogs are able to get under porch but not out of inner room. I use a spiral stake and their leads. I found it simple and quick to erect and take down, but some friends needed help.

Wind resistance ----------------------- It held up in 30mph gusts wind recently with no leaks. It did blow down at the front though during the day when we wern't there but I blame the stoney ground for that, allowing the pegs to come loose. You can add additional support though by pegging down the front flap when closed (using the guys used for when it's open and stood up with the supports). After doing that it held up all night in that wind. (Although I did park our small car (Toyota Aygo) in between us and the wind - it is a hoop type tent after all! Durability ------------- It's not going to be the most robust tent I dont feel. The seams are all good and I have faith in it that it won't leak but the slits/tunnels the poles go through need to be more durable. After one use the poles have rubbed a hole in the material. A pole joint is right under the place where the loop of material which holds the tent-end of the guy ropes sits, so it's double trouble, the pole rubs against the fabric from the inside and the guy rope holding loop rubs from the outside. Not ideal. After a second use the hole doesn't seem to have enlarged though. Poles -------- The fibre glass is probably ok and they are reasonably think, but it's a cheap design. The elastic holding the sections together is quite weak and the pole joints are not chamfered at all so (as per above) they will rub against their 'tunnels' and fray the material. They have not even been sanded off either, so like I said, cheap. Comes with ----------------- Lots of pegs, lots of them, more than you need! Normal pegs though, not fancy ones, but they do seem of good quality. Bag -------- No problem getting the tent back in the bag, it's snug but not too tight. And at the moment it looks as if it's best to detach the inner tent from the outer before packing away but I need to practice the other method (not detaching) before I can pronounce a firm judgement.

Paid £82.84 8/15. Used it twice now with some wind and rain on both occasions and the tent performed very well. Plenty of space and comfortable inside with well isolated bedroom with good vents - usefully large living area with good door options. Two problems which is a shame as it's a good tent - 1) Instructions are useless and verging on non-existant which is silly as it is quite easy to put up ONCE YOU KNOW HOW. - try harder Coleman. 2) Bag is too small and tent must be shoe-horned back into it with difficulty. Obviously it is more important to tent manufacturers to quote a smaller pack-away size than it is to provide the buyer with a realistically spacious bag. PS. One of the reviews here makes the exact opposite point to this - spot the plant. Will provide updates as time goes on .... Promised update 14-04-17: I've used it about nine times now in all weathers and I still like it very much and all the pluses above still apply as does the negative of the too small bag - even after much practice it is still a mammoth effort to squeeze it back into its bag. LOL - looks like I may be getting dislikes from people who don't like my price reveal - tough, we're all counting the coins so stop milking it - this is buyer power on the Web.

Wir haben das Zelt gekauft, als es hier im Angebot war. Erst hatten wir ein wenig Angst, weil ja doch ein paar negative Bewertungen hier standen (undichte Nähte; Stangen, die sich verbiegen oder zerbrechen; billige Verarbeitung...) - nichts davon können wir bestätigen. Wir sind mit dem Zelt zwei Wochen lang von Deutschland in die Hohe Tetra, Slowakei gereist und haben es auf dem Weg dahin mehrmals auf uns abgebaut (ca. 10x Auf- und Abbauen) und das Zelt sieht noch aus wie vorher. Weil es hier so viele Kommentare wegen Undichtigkeit gab, habe ich es vorsichtshalber imprägniert und wir hatten uns Nahtabdichter gekauft. Den mussten wir gar nicht benutzen, weil das Zelt top dicht ist. Wir hatten ein paar Regenschauer und einen ganzen Tag Regen und das Zelt hielt dicht. Die Bodenwanne ist super praktisch, da sie ein wenig höher ist und somit kein Wasser reinlaufen kann. Das Zelt lässt sich sehr leicht auf- und abzubauen (sofern man zu Zweit ist) und dauert ca. 30min (nach dem man den Trick raus hat). Wir haben uns am Anfang gemerkt, wie es eingepackt war und es so immer wieder selbst auseinander gebaut, damit es in die Zelttasche passt. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut. Die Nähte sind alle noch mal abgeklebt und das Innere vom Zelt fässt sich gummiert an. Trotz heißem Wetter und Feuchtigkeit von draußen, schwitzt es nicht! Die Reisverschlüsse wirken hochwertig und die Nähte reißen nicht auf, wenn das Zelt mal ein wenig zu doll gespannt ist. Der Stauraum ist super! Man hat sehr viel Platz drinnen (3-Mann-Zelt gekauft und zu Zweit mit Taschen drinnen geschlafen), sodass man sogar bei schlechten Wetter drinnen sitzen könnte, ohne Platzangst haben zu müssen. Das Vorzelt hat auch eine sehr gute Größe, sodass man auch zur Not da drinnen sitzen könnte. Das Zelt bekommt von uns volle 5 Sterne, weil es wirklich sehr gut ist. Es ist wirklich eine absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Per averla pagata poco più di 100 euro per me è un’ottima tenda, facile e veloce da montare, economica e spaziosa, perfetta per due persone se si vuole stare comodi. La borsa non è molto voluminosa ed è abbastanza leggera. La tenda ha anche una buona tenuta alla pioggia ma la di deve montare correttamente (non è difficile comunque).

This tent has lots of positive sides but insulation could be improved. It has spacious room. It protects well against the rain. High speed wind is not a problem neither. The transport bag is a bit small after the first use because it’s not possible to put the tent back the way it was in factory. What could be improved: heat insulation! Nowadays you’ll find tents with thermal and light insulation but here is not. Prepare for high temperature when the sun is strong. The other big plus of treatments is constant darkness for a better sleep. I guess both light and heat insulation are an all in one cloth treatment.

Tente traditionnelle, assez lourde, très spacieuse, facile à monter, couleur neutre agréable. Tapis de sol de l'entrée ne semble pas très étanche ni solide.

Zipper and the fabric nearby gets stuck sometime. Very good insulation and wind noise suppression.
