Great for multiple uses on different surfaces, wonderful array of colours.
These chalk pens are great and not limited to chalk boards. I have used the white ones on some homemade chalk boards. I was well aware that using mdf painted black would mean that these chalk pens would leave a permanent mark as it is a porous surface. This is fine for what I need, as I want some bright blackboard signs for my wedding, and don't want it to rub off easily. I have made blackboards using 6mm mdf spray painted black - much cheaper than buying them and if I want to use them as actual chalk boards after the wedding then I can respray them and use conventional chalk. - See photo attached of decorated blackboards I have also used the purple pen to write on some white hearts for the wedding. I had been using a purple permanent sharpie marker, which worked ok on the smoother hearts but some had been painted and the brush strokes made it really difficult to use the pen - these chalk markers however, still worked perfectly - as they are really liquid when they come out, they will write on pretty much anything. Again, as the hearts are porous, the chalk pen will leave a permanent mark. I have tried them on non-porous surfaces, and on a blackboard I bought (rather than made) and they do come off really easily with a damp cloth, so would be perfect for using on any shiny surface or non porous blackboard. I thought these were great value for money and offer a good variety of colours. My one criticism is the pen lids do not clip onto the ends of the pens very well - I managed to loose a lid on the first outing having put it on the end of the pen and it's now all dried out so will have to go in the bin - my own fault for losing it, but the pen would be better if the lid clipped firmly onto the end of the pen for when you're using it.

Fantastic chalk pens just wish they lasted a bit longer
Fantastic chalk pens just wish they lasted a bit longer You have to โinitiateโ the chalk liquid in the pens by pumping the nib on a hard surface for a minute or two and then after that they are good to go. Really good quality pens with vibrant colours and fairly easy to blend too. The nibs can be reversed to get a finer tip, but it could worth using tweezers for this, unless like me you donโt mind getting covered in it. Even if you do get in on you, itโs very easy to clean off. I let my toddler use them and he gets it everywhere and still is easy to clean. For removing from a chalkboard surface, I personally use a baby wipe but any damp cloth would do. I had been using on wooden toy with chalkboard paint over the grain, Therefore it proved quite difficult to remove all traces of the pens from the grain, but that is just the nature of the toy. Any smooth chalkboard surface would pose no difficulty at all. I have used on windows and acrylic surfaces and the results have been excellent and extremely easy to remove. As stated a couple have started running out, but I have certainly got a lot of use out of them. Will buy this brand again when it comes to replacing them.

Just what I needed
โค STATIONERY ISLAND โค LIQUID CHALK MARKER PENS โค DRY WIPE ERASE โค PRODUCT REF: D30 โค PACK OF 8 ooOoo From the back of the pack: Under the stock code sticker (that is a nightmare to remove) a cautionary note (1st image refers): ๐ โYOUR SURFACE MUST BE NON-POROUS. SOME CHALKBOARDS MAY BE POROUS!โ ooOoo I have had these for a couple of weeks now and have used them at every opportunity possible! With the exception of the BLUE, in my pack, they are good strong colours and I love them, especially the ORANGE, PURPLE & BLACK for Halloweโen preparation (at the time of writing). The pens are lightweight & comfortable in hand and the 3 mm rounded bullet nib is precisely what I currently need for writing, drawing & colouring in, when required. There is no 'feathering' to the nibs and plenty of ink left, as far as I can tell. The finished effect is colourful and long lasting with no noticeable signs of fading. When the time comes, it wipes off relatively easily, with no sign of โghostingโ on any of my erasures so far. The 8 x LIQUID CHALK MARKERS arrive in a plastic-type presentation pack that measures around 10 cm x 13.5 cm x 1.5 cm and in a sturdy cardboard outer for safe transit. In my pack, 1 of each colour: ~ RED ~ GREEN ~ ORANGE ~ WHITE ~ BLUE ~ YELLOW ~ PURPLE ~ PINK From the pack: ๐ โIDEAL FOR SIGN BOARDS, WINDOWS, CERAMICS, MIRRORS AND DECORATIONโ Some patience is required to get the ink to flow through to the tip in the first instance and I would recommend hanging on in there. As indicated on the back of the pack (3rd image refers) this requires some shaking & pressing down several times on the tip of each pen, but, eventually, you can see the ink coat the tip (the tip is a lemon colour when new) and then it is all systems go! The third advisory step is to check that โthe ink can be erased from the selected surfaceโ: ๐ โMake a small mark in a hidden area, let it dry for 5 minutes and check that it can be erased easily.โ Around 1.25 cm in diameter, each round-barrelled pen stands around 13 cm tall, of which 3.5 cm is the coloured cap, which matches the opposite end and the wording โCHALK MARKER D30โ. There is a slight odour when the cap is first removed but nothing terribly potent, IMO. A sharp tug is required to pull off the cap and it usefully fits over the end of the marker but although it has a mock โshirt clipโ, it doesnโt stop the pen from rolling around on a smooth surface. At the end of writing etc, the cap needs a firm push to close properly which is identified by a satisfying click. Also on the barrel label, in WHITE on BLACK but easy to read & multi-lingual are the aforementioned notes about the surface & the advised โtestโ ~ handy reminders if the presentation pack goes AWOL. The ink comes off fingers relatively easily in my experience. I have used a damp cloth for some erasing on good quality, heavy-duty blackboards. Usefully, WHITE is available as a single marker to โtry & seeโ, but I am going to have to be strong to resist the temptation of adding the 6 mm CHISEL NIB version to my collection! Great chalk markers, value for money, will buy again
Absolutely love these chalk markers. They are easy to use, bright colours, fine nib for clean line, bright handwriting. These markers state that not all chalkboards are nonporous and to test before using. I did a test mark on my chalkboard and a few pieces of slate I am using as signs. The chalk proved easy to clean with no ghosting, so I then primed the markers by shaking them for 10 seconds and pressing the nib several times and they were ready! I really enjoyed doing my projects. The brightness of these markers is fantastic, and they write smoothly. Very happy, will buy more in other colour palettes.

Overall a great set of markers with fantastic colours
Thoroughly impressed with how bright these chalk pens appear on our chalkboards. Most of the ranges nibs are very smooth when drawing or writing with them. However the smaller markers, the D30 series with the 3mm round nib, start off a bit scratchy. With perseverance that settles down and the nib will smooth out, but that can take a while. As is always mentioned, you have to wait a while for the chalk ink to settle into the nib but that's the case for every chalk pen product and will get there in the end, despite the despair you might feel. Ink flow will be optimal with the pen pointing down. When drawing on a wall painted black board, you'll have to stop and shake the pen to make sure the ink continues to flow into the nib. This is just physics; I have found one pen that defies this and it's made for NASA. Overall a great set of markers with fantastic colours, perfect for writing and artwork. I will continue to use this particular brand!

Good quality just not consistent
All of them work perfectly apart from the yellow! Slightly annoyed, but the quality of the rest is really high

Love these pens - minus the red
These pens are so vibrant and easy to use! Some need two draws to make the colour as vibrant as shown and some (pale blue for example) only needed the one draw! Make sure to really be patient when loading them up initially with the chalk ink as it takes a couple of mins to get them ready to use. The only issue I have with these pens is the red. I tried to get it to show up in the photo but the red - even after about 5 draws - just won't show with the same opacity as the others. Don't see me using the red much anyway so not worried about it but if you are needing red, this is something to be aware of. Also so far, the red doesn't seem to dry well either and stays wet/smudgeable a lot longer than any of the others. This could well just be a one off in my pack though! Once you've used the pens, make sure you let your work dry too or they will smudge but once dry they are all good! SO much easier than chalk - still a really good purchase!
