is this mic good for gaming for instance will it pick up my keyboard and mouse in the background??

It will if you simply crank up the gain and leave it like that. I game with my partner, both of us in one room both using mechanical keyboards and talking into mics and we are both using this microphone. If you set the correct gain, run the mic through a noise gate and speak into the mic from a good distance then you should have no problems.

The screw mounts for the microphone and shock mount are different sizes. The documentation doesn't tell me - what thread sizes do I need?

Hello, thanks for your interest in our products! If a regular mic stand mount is used rather than the shock mount, it would twist onto the threading around the USB port. If it's held by the shock mount, it will mount easily to a mic stand. The shock mount has the US Standard mic stand thread of 5/8-27, and included in the case is an adapter to the smaller European-style thread of 3/8-16. Kind regards Marantz Customer Support.

This is a USB Microphone. You plug directly into your computer and you're up and running no interface needed. The Scarlett is a pre amp interface for condenser or dynamic microphones. Different system completely.
