Review: A legendary success in information presentation. - Having practised clinical medicine for over two decades, this latest edition of Clinical Medicine has once again provided me with such a wonderful impetus to explore scores of topics of interest. The third vintage edition of this book sits proudly on my book shelf, and I had always thought in my youth that the information in it was so succinctly, usefully and uniquely presented. The latest Ninth Edition retains that core instructional philosophy while at the same time radically progressing and updating the way information is structured. As the title makes amply clear, the practical art of clinical medicine is clearly the substrate upon which information has been piggy backed, and that alone makes this book an incomparable gem. Review: A life saver... - I am a first year medical student and this book has done wonders for me! Instead of having to trawl through the unreliability of the internet, I have clear, concise and well presented information all in one book! I find that using this book helps me engage better with my clinical placements! In my opinion a must buy for all budding clinical based students!

Best kindle edition so far
I own kindle editions of previous 2 editions of this book. This kindle edition is the best one. Diagrams, tables, and algorithms are very clear to see on laptop and tablet. Neurology section is very very good.

Nice... but seems to have a lot of important detail detracted from the previous edition
Though it is a good book in it's own right,I found that compared to the previous edition (8th), there is a lot less detail in terms of the pathophysiology of certain conditions and the explanations of the treatment rationale that follows in the description. An example of this would be the systemic hypertension portion of the CVS chapter. The 8th edition went into a lot of detail as to how and why hypertension occurs, with a very user friendly summary of causes in a table, with their respective pathophysiologies described in the accompanying text. This was not so in the 9th edition, so I think in order to get the most out of this book, it is best used in conjunction with the older edition (8th), which seems to go into a little bit more detail in certain areas. I think it is not as comprehensive as it once was.

Well laid and excellent backbone of medicine
Best book ever. Concise and yet detailed.information is laid out well. Tables and images are excellent for quick reference. Always used it as my backbone. All other thick books are just additions. If you stick to memory every page of this book you really don't need another.

It’s big - don’t expect to carry it around or read it in bed!
A very big and thick book with quite a few new chapters with a different layout from the previous edition. The ethics and pharma chapters are very thorough

Ottimo
