iT IS VERY RELIABLE< EASY TO USE< GREAT PRICE> ALOT OF FUNCTIONS, and saving memories, priceless
What An incredible little device,I had set up a big old model T.V. that can handle old type Video, cd playeys, to start copying my lifetime family V.H.S. And Dvd videos,- the T.V. player, And Stand took up alot of space, but then i found this great dependable clearclick Tranfer device, it's the size of an i-phone with big screen, and it sits righ on my desk i watch the process as i'm on the computer taking care of my bussiness, but i tried all the other models here on amazon, and there was problems with each of them, but this clearclick device is very easy to use, TAKE UP VERY LITTLE SPACE< THE PRICE IS INCREDIBLE< AS WALGREENS AND otheR OUTFITS CHARGE $ 35.00 per v.h.s. tape.so all my priceLESS FAMILY RECORDINGS ARE SAFE<ANND SAVED IN A COMPATIBLE FORMAT>WHAT A THRILL< I"M EVEN MAKING MYSELF CUSTOM MUSIC MP$"S TO LISTEN TO WHENEVER I WANT< THE VIDEOS WILL MAKE PRICELESS CHRISTMAS GIFTS AS MEMORIES ARE SO PRICELESS< BUT CLEARCLICK saved me alot of time, alot of room space cause it's so small and convenient.i'm telling all my friends about this great, reliable, inexpensive product. thank you clearclick, sincerly joseph t. Why did you pick this product vs others?: it's reliability, you can count on it, as the other ones had flaws Connectivity: just 3 little cables from the source Sound quality: stereo quality Value for money: great price, as stores charge $35.00 per video, i saved myseld hundreds of dollars by transfering them myself 4 k Picture quality: 4 K, it records just as good as the source Lag: i don't know what lag means Design: very well constructed, convenient button display and access, big, big screen, the size of a cell phone, sits right on my desk, i can watch it as i'm copying files, doesn't take up any space at all, also a volume switch if you want to hear the sound or not, i'm just thrilled to death cause i had a big t.v. a stand, with v.c.r. taking up all that space, but now with my little clearclick i moved all that stuff to the garage, and just put the little clearclick on my desk, thank the great thoughtful genius people for making such a great product. sincerly joe t

Works great for 8mm camcorder videos. cassettes.
I transferred 11 (22 hrs worth) precious 8mm videos to digital files with no failures right out of the box. The instructions were a bit disjointed but once I figured out a simple thing I was inadvertently doing wrong it was smooth sailing. VERY easy to use and I'm glad I got one with a big display. You can set to automatically record for a set period of time and just walk away while it continues to record or, monitor it while choosing to edit what parts of the film you want to record or omit (like old girlfriends pre-marriage) I was really nervous about doing this as my videos were 25+ years old and priceless to us but after a single test run, my fears were calmed. Its not glitchy and my fears quickly went away. Note that it does NOT play your physical videotape for you. I my case I played the tapes in my Sony 8mm Handicam and it is connected to the converter with a typical AV RCA cable. The quality of the video is just as good as the original. Once you have copied the footage on a flash drive you can access the videos simply by popping the flash drive to an available USB input on your smart TV. In my case the format didn't fit my TV screen exactly but the picture was very large and the entire frame fit the TV without going off of the screen. Note that the recording process requires the videos play to full length while creating the movie so there's nothing quick about it. This purchase was everything I was hoping for and more. I've not yet tried the included video editing software. I highly recommend this product!!

Perfect converter for my needs
Converted 55 8mm tapes with this ClearClick Converter and it worked flawlessly. Ho hiccups or surprises. Easy to use once you set it up. Just make sure you have a video camera that can play the tapes, like this 25 year only Sony camera (which worked like new after sitting n a box for 20+ years - kudos to Sony).

Super Easy to Use
No problems whatsoever to use. You can record multiple movies on the provided thumb drive before transferring to the computer. The software is professional quality and allows for intuitive and quick modifications (trimming the video and adding audio effects). Don't look for this to magically make your VHS quality video equal to Blue Ray or anything like that! It does a fairly decent job with the quality, and you CAN 'upscale' the video quality. But don't think of it as better looking (i.e. making grainy video crisp and clear); think of it as better QUALITY video (i.e. Still grainy, but more pixels per square inch). Still, overall it does exactly what I wanted and is easy to use. Highly recommend for digitizing and saving your VHS, DVD, Blue Ray, and whatever video you can plug in with S-Video or RCA connectors. Also, the software is pretty top-notch. Can use that for editing audios, as well. Or creating videos (to include photo slide show) and adding audio (dubbing music or narration).

Worth it!
I am not tech savvy & this was so easy to set up & very easy to use. I bought the full kit including USB drive & it was absolutely worth it. I converted 40 to 50 VHS home movie tapes to digital & this product worked perfectly. I connected this directly to our VCR for conversion. My only complaint is that I could not adjust the volume when I was doing the recordings, but I also did not have a remote for my VCR. If you are worried about converting your family memories to digital before it's too late this product is worth every penny. And the 128GB USB easily fit all of our family movies in on convenient easily stored place.

40 or so video conversions in and...(updated again)
the flash drive has stopped working. The converter itself is very very easy to use and delivers very decent quality MP4s, video and audio. The capture to the flash drive included with the system was also great. That made it easy to just transfer all captures from miniDVs (so far) to my desktop (windows), and I was able to move a few files at a time over. After I captured and moved about 40 files, the flash stopped being recognized by the converter and my desktop. Good thing all files were moved, but now I have to buy and format a new flash drive as I have many more tapes to convert. Stay tuned. Update: New flash drive purchased ($13) - exactly the same as provided by the vendor. Worked with the converter out of the package, did not have to format. Began capturing again and all was well for about 10 or so more captures. Captures of a few hi8 tapes went well, quality was good. Then, the system just stopped working. It would not power on. It's a brick. I have requested a replacement which is supposed to arrive in a few days. Stay tuned. Update: The new system arrived within a few days and the return went smoothly. The new unit completed the rest of our hi8 tapes (nearly 100 in all) with no problem. One thing I did notice is that high action video is jerky. Sometimes, not always. The more action, the worse the jerking. The viewfinder video on the camcorder is fine, but the jerking translates to the MP4 video. That might be due to my 30 year old camcorder or tape degradation or both. The S-video didn't work at all. However, seeing as I spent about $280 with LegacyBox converting 20 miniDV and hi8 tapes, and I spent $200 on this setup, I saved quite a bit of $$$ converting the rest of the tapes myself. Others have slammed the software...I'm not even bothering with it, so I suppose I could've purchased the system without it. Today, I'm converting a few hi8 tapes that were not successfully converted by LegacyBox. So far, so good. If someone would figure out a system to convert old film reels with video AND audio for this price, you'd make a fortune. Even LegacyBox can't do that...video only.

Works right out of the box.
Wow, this worked with no fuss. I was kind of shocked, because I'm used to having to tweak and alter and fudge with software and/or hardware to get it to where I want it. Nope. I plugged my old Hi8 camcorder into the S-Video and red/white composite cables, and let'er rip! I already had OBS Studio software installed, which is the "software" for this device. This is for potential customers that may be confused about where they can find the software. OBS Studio is free, and takes a little bit of time to figure out, but after three to six recordings, it should be pretty easy to use after that. Very satisfied. I recommend this if you want to backup your old analog video sources.

Great Device
Was looking for an easier way to transfer about 50 or so vhs-c and vhs tapes of family activities from the 90's. I started years ago using a dvd/vhs tape recorder unit I have but stopped 10 tapes onto it because of the edit time and time to finalize and write the DVD. I recent saw this device and its features and reviews and figured it was worth the try before these tapes or the player i have go bad. Boy am I happy and satisfied I purchased this. I am half way now with transferring the tapes. It has exceeded all my expectations in setup, use, and end result. While it took a little time to get familiar with what each button on the unit does, after a couple of tapes it was easy. Hoping all continues to go well for the remaining tape transfers. The converted video quality put onto flash drive as mp4 is no better or worse than what is shown if tape is just played to a tv. What is great now these files can be shared and viewed on almost any device. The software that come with this as a free download is nice, but have not used it for editing yet. Just some viewing but mostly used other video players I am more accustomed to using e.g.vlc. My final thought is this is a great product that totally meets my needs. Only thing I wished the 3 cables were a little longer....but I understand longer cables could effect quality.
