Good sound

The sound is good for a small unit except for AM radio. No matter how strong the signal there is a lot of background fuzz. It works very well with tape and USB however.

This radio is the normal standard size of the old school radios, however it's not as large as the boom boxes everyone used to carry around. This one is lite enough for a child to carry around,

Bought this for my daughter's Birthday in Aug. Worked fine the first couple of times she used it. Now it will not play cassettes. That is the whole reason we purchased. Return time has passed. Would NOT purchase. Very cheaply made.

If you need ‘something’ in your garage or perhaps a kids room this probably could work since it’s more geared for background music b/c the sound leaves quite a lot to be desired especially if you actually like to listen to music. It isn’t quite as tinney as a transistor radio but it’s not really all that far off from that. Maybe 2 notches better. We stumbled on a youtube video where someone had taken the back off of an older unit to show how previous models actually used heavier duty magnets (helps with bass - and this unit has very little of that) located behind the speakers. He bought a newer model and in the new model he noticed the sound had changed so he did a little investigating. Turns out the magnets on the new model were half of what they once were and that makes quite a difference. 2.5 stars is more accurate (not 3). Hope it’s useful.

Excellent small boom box with good sound quality and performance

As soon as I plug in to charge the radio, it blew! I didn’t even know what happened and the cassette area exploded and smoke came out of it, emitting terrible toxic air. I just have to throw away the product to prevent further “explosion”. It was a scary experience.
