Fortnite - PlayStation 4

This game is currently in Open Beta...ish. It is a weird model that Epic Games is working with; In 2018 this game will be Free to Play, right now they are offering paid Beta Access which are also Founders Packs and offer some unique and pretty powerful weapons and heroes to play with. You can purchase the base game at $29.99 and upgrade from within the game and receive some neat DLC and even extra digital copies for friends. ABOUT THE GAME It's a very playable/replayable game that is essential Plants Vs Zombies mixed with some Minecraft and Left 4 Dead. You build up your mean headquarters and battle an onslaught of zombies while also completing missions in the world and harvesting resources to rebuild and expand your homebase. If you like building and gunning down zombies this game is for you. I will admit it gets tedious with the harvesting and building structures for every mission, but overall its not a bad game. Might be a bad model to get into though. The learning curve is fairly high as level up heroes, survivors, weapons, traps, and your account will be overwhelming at first but with some help from friendly players, online guides, and taking the time to really understand the game you'll be on your way to crushing skulls in no time. There are plenty of weapons to craft and utilize to complete your missions and various heroes to unlock through Loot Llamas that can be earned ingame or purchased with real money. The real con here is that it is in Beta and there are going to be glitches, bugs, and monetization that people dont agree with. If you are still skeptical about this game I highly suggest watching videos on the gameplay and read Fortnites Forums and Reddit to really grasp the community and vision this game has to offer. Its not really a mess as it is a building block that requires more peoples' feedback on what type of game this will become.

I have read a lot of misleading reviews about not being able to progress in the game due the their being microtransactions. The game, right now, is in an unfinished early access. There are aspects of the game that could be better explained and in time those explanations will likely be implemented. The microtransactiona are better thought of as a "pay to progress faster." You will not be blasting through every mission as quickly as possible, and will not "beat" the game as it is in an unfinished early access right now. The gameplay as it stands is smooth and the graphics are gorgeous. It is not flawless, but there is more to like about the game than there is to dislike. The user interface can be quirky at times and Epic will likely trim some of the fat off of the edges as time goes on and more people play. The early access is worth paying for the game right now rather than waiting for it go to free to play, if you are willing to work through the minor kinks it currently comes with. Edit: I have changed my rating from 4 star to 5 star. I have nothing but good feelings for the future of this game with the patching, updates, and developer updates on a regular basis. I believe it has a brighter future than originally anticipated.

you get to play online with your friends for free. you don't need playstation plus and it is a very fun game

Got this game as it was said to be 4 players and wanted a game to play as a family. Its not. 4player online only, not even 2 players local. Good game play, some difficulty figuring out crafting, pretty fun to play just not what w were wanting.

Yes, the game is still in Beta. Yes, I'm aware I paid $59.99 for a game that will eventually be free. Yes, I can't put this game down. It's a bit of Orcs Must Die, a bit of Dungeon Defenders and a bit of Minecraft. Harvest loot, build weapons, set traps and murder hordes of Husks bent on eating your face.

"Update 01" Wow, so much hate for warning others that the game is online only and for paying $60 for a Early Access Beta. Anyways, most of the confusion comes from Amazon's inaccurate description of the Game. On the back of the game case it states "Online Play Required". As for the game itself, I have played 5+ hours and while the game is fun, it is very buggy and get repetitive fast. almost every mission is run around map until you find the fort base platform, power it with blueglow that is randomly found on the map, build your fort, then activate and defend for said amount of minutes. The "Swarm" zombies all come from one direction and are easily killed before they even get to the fort, so there is little reason to build one in the first place. The Game is full of micro transactions but they are not needed or required to play so there's that. "Orriginal" The Game is still an Early Access Release and requires an internet connection! First. Upon inserting the disc, cannot play before a mandatory 7+gigabit update, Then after finishing the update, found out you cannot play the game without first purchasing a liscence product key. (This key is part of the founders DLC pack included with the game.) Again requires internet to download the DLC pack Also this key is tied to One profile and if you have multiple account on said PS4, you must purchase a seperate key for each profile, so no sharing the game between friends or family. Also be warned for those outside of USA of importing the game, key is available on US Psn only, so you will be unable to Play without a US PSN account. Anyways, after I finally got the game up and running, was greeting by a Loading Sceen with a big EARLY ACCESS logo. The Game itself is also bad, within the first 10 minutes of gameplay I have suffered many bugs from dropped framerate and lag to the game freezing and crashing on me. The controls for building are clunky and you end up building the wrong thing or in the wrong spot, to having to slowly destroy it in order to try to move and rebuild it. The game is not a finished product and buggy, in ERALY ACCESS state to be slowly patched with updates DO NOT BUY disclamer, on Amazon it clearly states Internet connection required to access Downloadable content, but nowhere does it say downloadable content required for play- False Advertising
