KSC-PSW7EQ 8 changed my mind
*update* Relocated to my Honda civic, was able to tuck this under the driver's seat. Holy crap, what a difference! Not only did the environment change my mind, but this thing rocks hard rock better than rap. Original installation, i was playing 25k Hz rap. Upper bass range, this box gives me a massage! I was wrong, Kenwood. Application drives expectation. Still need a sub for *boom*, but this box delivers the mid bass like no other! If you can fully tuck this under a seat, (enclosed) then it delivers what I'd call mid bass extremely well! (Bad things by I Prevail) Kenwood clearly states that 50k is this units lower boundary, solely my mistake for expecting "boom" over what it does provide (solid mid rumble) that rocks hard! And Now, my mistake based on improper application: (Prior review) Pioneer AVH series deck, pioneer door speakers x4 in a 2001 Nissan frontier 4-door. These things (trucks) are known for having zero extra space, so i thought I'd try this compact speaker. I blew the 10" shallow mount sub (in custom box) that i had crammed behind the back seat, but I'm going to return this and install another 10" sub. This Kenwood KSC-PSW7EQ 8 barely added anything beyond the door speakers. I used the wired remote settings to max the volume & crossover settings, also fiddled with the slider switch, tried tucking the speaker under a seat, up-fired, down-fired, behind the back seat (forward/backward fire), fixed to the cab, NOT fixed to the cab, i even put this thing inside an empty speaker box.... Paltry bass if any. Yes, it has more bass than a blown 1984 Buick back deck speaker, but DONT BUY if you want to feel ANY of your bass. At each of the variations mentioned above, i stepped out of the vehicle a few steps - couldn't hear a single *drop* of bass. Inside, i could tell that there was something different, but nothing notable. Pros: -There IS (some) bass from this unit -i simply bought it to try it, i now have perspective. I wasn't misled, just curious. -It's small -Cool design / look -Remote -It's definitely a speaker -It's a rectangular speaker Cons: -They didn't lie about "flat" (if you bought one you know what i mean) -I have 5 1/4" door speakers that hit harder -If you have ever had a true "system", scroll onto the next product (maybe Memphis audio, JBL, Rockford Fosgate, get you a box/10"+) -Heck, Walmart Dual brand will blow this product away, only downside is that won't be packed all in one little "convenient" speaker box. Component audio is DEF the way to go. -now i gotta return this -i have relatively costly curiosities

Well worth the money.
This subwoofer allowed me to fine tune the Kenwood car stereo so that everything 150 hertz and under goes to the subwoofer and all other frequencies go to the 6 1/2" Polk speakers in the doors. This subwoofer puts out plenty of clear clean bass and the wired remote makes it easy to adjust the the sound to your liking on the fly. Its small dimensions allow it to fit anywhere, especially under seats. Well worth the money.

Perfect Amount of Bass
This sub went into a sports coupe, unfortunately with the wiring harness under the seat I was unable to fit where it was meant to be. However I found spot in front of the passenger floor board, high enough to wear it should not be kicked unless someone actually tried. The reason for the four stars and not five is because of the fact that the remote is the only way for The self-powered sub to work, and to have the settings adjusted. If it were not that I'd give it five stars. Otherwise the sub sounds clean hits well enough for a car sedan, hatch or coupe. Definitely would recommend if looking for one of these Self-powered subs as long as it's applied to one of the car mentioned listed above.

Great sound and bass that fits under a seat.
It added the bass I wanted and fit under my seat and didn’t take up any room.

I installed this under my driver side Ertiga. The woofer added that extra omph to the bass. Please see the video for better understanding. I've kept the control volume High, the quality on flat, and frequency " change over" to 50Hz, and the phase to 0. I use the cars audio system to manupilate the bass ... Rock is for me.
